Default I think this guy was better than Lebron will ever be

pistol Pete Maravich was probably one of the most underrated players out there. This guy did all his damage without the luxury of the 3 point line too. Now thats impressive!

I love Pistol Pete, but he was a one-dimensional offensive player. Jordan is the best all-around player ever until LeBron becomes a better defender. Rememnber that Jordan won some Defensive Player of the Year awards, meaning that he was simultaneously the best offensive and best defensive player in the league. Top that!

Pete was certainly the better shooter and passer. I remember watching him at LSU. It scary to think how many points he'd have scored if the three point line had been in college back then.

Neither much of a defender.

Pistol Pete was a stud, no question about that.

But I'm pretty sure we could compile a pretty compelling video of great plays by Lebron James as well.

Hell, just the 4th quarter and both OT's in Game 5 vs. the Pistons would be enough

;-)

Got to love Pete he made some incredible plays and yes his handling, passing, and shooting skills where better than Lebron. He gave more effort on defense, but Lebron is so athletic it makes up for some of those areas. Give him time if he can develope a shooters stroke Lebron will be considered better right now of course the winner would be "Pistol".

Didn't he have a big bulls eye painted on his roof so aliens would know where to find him? Died way too early.

Pistol Pete would never let his team down like Lebron did at crunch time.
