Default Basketball Parlay of the Day - Monday, 2/26/07

Post your 2 best basketball plays each day, NBA and CBB full-game Sides & Totals allowed only, no halves. Same game Side/Total parlays are ok.

All parlays will be graded as 10.00 to win 26.00, and I will do the standings for the month of February at least.

The Catch: You must have SOME ANALYSIS for each play. Only needs to be one sentence, no big deal, although full paragraphs are ok too. Plays submitted with no analysis will NOT COUNT toward standings.

Weber State -3.5: Weber State needs this win to lock up the conference champ. outright. They are also a very impressive 15-6 ATS. Playing an inferior opponent with nothing to play for, they should have no problem covering the number.

San Diego +3: Gonzaga coming off a game at San Fran. over the weekend that they were very fortunate to win. I don't think they'll be that lucky tonight. Without Heytvelt, the Zags are are a middle-of-the-road team in the WCC. While they need this game to keep pace with Santa Clara, I just don't think they're capable of winning another conference game on the road against a decent team.

KANSAS -7: As much as we hate playing road favorites, Kansas may be the best team in the country over the last month or so. The Jayhawks are 9-1 SU over the last ten games with the loss being by three points to Texas A&M, and they are also on a six-game ATS winning streak while winning those contests by a whopping average of +28.3 points! Oklahoma is only 15-12 SU on the year, and the Sooners have failed every major test at home so far, losing to Texas, Texas A&M and Villanova handily while beating a bunch of creampuffs.

PEPPERDINE +7: Santa Clara has the obvious talent advantage here, but the Waves are capable of making a game of this here at home. Pepperdine may be just 7-22 SU overall, but it actually has a winning ATS record of 14-13-1, and its average home losing margin of -5.7 points is within this posted line. If you like common opponents, Santa Clare just lost outright to Loyola Marymount on Saturday, the same Marymount team that Pepperdine defeated 95-88 in this building two games ago.

Akron/Duquesne UNDER 183.5- This is a lot of points for a college game... I know that Duquesne has been in a lot of high scoring games lately and that the Zips can put up point, but I'm willing to take my chances with that many points in a NCAA game...

Kansas -7 The Jayhawks have been on a tear of late and don't see the Sooners slowing them down in this one... KU is missing Robinson tonight, but I don't think it will make a huge difference... Kansas still has a shot of getting a #1 seed in the tournament IMO and they will be out to prove that they are worthy!

Talking Couple of fades for you guys, thank me later

Kansas-Oklahoma Under 129
I was all set to jump on the Kansas bandwagon, but then was scared off when I saw the coaches poll come across the wire...and Kansas had jumped all the way to #3! Not saying they don't deserve it, especially after Wisconsin lost twice and both Florida and UNC went down once last week. But I'm afraid the #3 ranking will be very heavy on the minds of the Jayhawks players instead of covering a 7-point margin. So I'll go with the total that the trends all say UNDER.

Georgetown -3 at Syracuse
Can't remember ever coming out ahead betting against Jim Boeheim & Co, so I'm hoping that tonight proves the old adage, "There is a first time for everything." Hoyas can't afford to give their win over Pitt right back by dropping this one at Cuse tonight.

Been awhile since I was here. Gotta get back on track.

Long Beach State -1.5
This line is perplexing to me because LB State spanked Pacific by 28 when they met at Long Beach earlier this month. Pacific's D is swiss cheese too, giving up 48% FG shooting to their opponents at home. LB torched them for 57% in the first meeting, including 11-for-24 from 3. I don't expect them to be that hot, but I do not see this game going from a 28 point blowout to a Pacific win.

Gonzaga@SD Over 153.5
Despite losing Heytvelt to suspension, Gonzaga has continued to put up alot of points. They've gone over in 12 of 18 road games while SD has gone over in 7 of 9 at home. Two teams combined for 173 points during the 1st meeting, only 15 from Heytvelt which would translate into a cover for tonight's line.

Sacramento Kings +2.5
Im actually quite shocked this line even exsists...I mean seriously, philly has really lost everything they had. They look like the clippers back in the day.

Kansas -7
Kansas is working on all cylinders...although againts the sooners, they dont have a great record for winning ATS(1-4 in the last 5 games)...we also gotta realize that this is not the same team.

Kansas-OU Over 129
OU shot 34% from the floor against Texas, and UT shot 41%. The total still hit 126. Kansas is an under-trending team, but I think that this game will go over. I think a 73-63 type game is on hand here.

Weber St. -3.5
Like Rjt, I am a little astounded by this line. Has it really been 12 days since Weber State played last? Well, regardless, I am on board with Weber St. who beat Sac st. by 20 earlier in the season, sits atop the conference, and can lock down the conf. title with a win in their season finale. Weber St. rolls in this one.

Don't you hate it when the little voice in your head tells you to play it the exact opposite way, and you don't listen?
