Leans for Saturday 2/28/09 featuring schaapattack Week
Ah yes the feeling of the upcoming spring is in the air. The birds are chirping, and the rain is pitter patting on the roof. Time for a good old fashioned blowout to remind us of the good old days...
Utah is the hottest team in the NBA right now and te Kings although a covering machine of late are about to be put to the test. The Kings are flops when it comes to back end games of back to back situations, going 0-5 straight up and 1-4 ats losing by an average margin of 23 points. The jazz have made it a habit of blowing them out as of late going 3-0 straight up and ats the last 3 times they have hosted the Kings winning by average margins of 21.5 points. With the Jazz having torched the Kings defense in those games scoring 120, 127, 117, a play for the Utah team total to go over is a great idea, and I will exercse that idea. Sacramento's players have not played together long enough to jell in such a manner as to handle what the Jazz are doing.
Utah-16.5
Utah Team Total to go over 117
The OKC Thunder have really overacheived this year, and are quietly (except for here) one of the best cover teams in the NBA. However, a look inside the numbers reveals that the Thunder are not too good on back ends of back to backs going 1-4 straight up and ats. The Memphis Grizzlies are starved for a win these days and the Thunder are in a bad position to get the cover considering that they beat the Grizzlies in Memphis earlier this year 111-103 as a 7.5 dog and 114-102 at home to take the first two games between these teams this year. So revege is definitely at play here. Throw in the Thunder playing overtime againstDallas last night and you have the makings of the improbable Grizzlies getting a win.
Memphis-4
CBB
Kentucky-4
Penn State-13.5 (Hook)
Gonzaga-9.5 (NO PLAY-The line went down instead of up! 3:48pm)
California +2.5
Charlotte-9 2nd half (added play)
Auburn+6 (added play with a point buy)
Kentucky-5 2nd half (added play)
Bobcats/Clippers under 94 2nd half (added play)
Sorry about the lateness, I had to brek away to take my son to his basketball playoff game this morning, and I myself didn't get a chance to play them as i was up and out of the house by 9am, but here's schapattack's early games which have already started but here they are (bear in mind that I am fully vested for what I like to put out on the average day so I won't be able to play schaapattack's picks today. I don' like the Bulls because they are on their 4th game in 5 nights:
CBB
Georgia Tech+23
Mizzou State+3
Ball State moneyline
NBA
Chicago-1
45-23-3 (Be selective and don't wager above your means)

Trends:
- The Wizards are 17-26 ATS as an underdog this season.
- The Wizards are 10-16 ATS on the road this season.
- The Wizards are 15-25 ATS on revenge games this season.
- The Bucks are 9-3 ATS against the Southeast the season.
- The Bucks are 15-10 ATS against under .500 teams this season.
- The Bucks are 16-12 ATS at home this season.
- Head to head, the Bucks are 7-3 ATS in the last 3 seasons.
Keys to this Bucks cover:
1. Power rankings have the Bucks cover tomorrow by double the abovementioned line.
2. The president won't be in the arena to inspire the Wizards.

Heaters look good my Town homie! My favorite leans for tomorrow are the Bucks-7, Chicago+1, Utah-16.5. i may end up having to play the Bulls. I know this team pretty well and I know when to lean on them, know when to lay off of them too. This is the type of game that they will f*ck around and win. They always win when they're not supposed to, and also lose when they're not supposed to. A testament to their terrible coaching. They picked the wrong guy for the job.
The Bucks because they are due for a dismantling of a team that is 1-4 straight up and ats on back ends (Washington) while they are 2-1 straight up in their last 3 back ends. I see a woodshed job coming in that one. Skiles has them playing well.
And Utah? Well I really don't have to go into why. I am also taking Utah's team total to go over. I don't have fear of the large numbers from playing

Yessir I am playing Memphis still. I am saying that those were my original leans, Chicago, Bucks and Utah and I forgot to tap on Memphis. But after the consideration was done, I let go of the Bulls simply because this is their 4th game in 5 nights and they have got to be tired. And Houston is a perfect 5-0 straight up against them. So i had to kick it. Houston is in too good of a spot for a letdown to go with them, so i left that game alone altogether.
The Bucks are on a back to back and had a lot of energy ued up last night playing New Orleans to the wire last night. I would think that they would be a good first half take, as they played well in the 4th quarter last night and may have the carry over effect working in their favor. Washington is drunk from their outright dog win against the Bulls. They are ready to be setup. But still I can't help but think about how much energy it took for the Bucks to crawl back into that game last night.

definitely rolling big on the jazz for obvious reasons,
UTAH -16
but i'm also fixing to put some money down on those jerkoff clips. Bobs are about to play their 4th in 5 and with the clips getting slapped around last night, they'll be very happy to run home and take on the bobs with revenge on the mind.
LAC +3 (guess)
also gonna look at the line a bit, but i'm thinking i'll play the bucks too. Don't know if i'm convinced that the didnt' blow their load on that comeback either, but i'm checking that game out for now. Also the over looks enticing as these teams score a lot of points on each other.
MIL -7 (lean)
over 210 (less of a lean)

taking Orl -2 again today, 10-5 ATS after a loss this year, plus they are 5-1 SU in Phi and they won 7 of 8 overall against them, surely ORL will be fired up after that horrible loss against DET last night and Phi is home after a 4 game road trip were they went 2-2, so not so bad and they should be happy and dont forget they almost let the Nicks back into it last night
Hou -1, I know it looks fishy and we all know Chi can win this game, but they just have to be tired 4th game in 5 days, plus Hou is a 5-0 ATS and SU against Chi, I just have to ride a team that is freaking hot right now until it falls apart
mia -5.5, I just have to give em a try again today, two teams that failed me, but NY should be down more as they really had a chance to win it on Friday but didnt... ok 4-7 ATS in b2b games were as NY is 6-4 ... guess I will not play them after all ... no play for me
Mem -4, OKC just off a OT loss and now they play Mem where they are only 2-4 ATS and SU plus mem is well rested and will await a tired OKC team at home
UTA -16, hell they are hot at home and blowing away almost everybody and now they face a SAC team on b2b after a home win, give me UTA here, plus they destroyed their opponents by 15.8 pts in their last 8 home games (exclude the two games against the Lakers and celtics, where they won by 4 and 5 points and the number goes upto almost 20 pts.)
so potential plays right now:
ORL
HOU
MEM
UTA
Still again 4 game when we only have 7 games to choose from, but they look really good and I hope to go at least 3-1 with the plays
edit: good to see ck with me on mem and uta, but I somehow has the feeling he will say that HOU and ORl are the wrong call ... I hope not cause I really like em today

LEANS for early games. Just leans for now as I will look into more in the morning.
Fl/NJ Under 5.5
Stars ml (hard to imagine 4 straight losses at home)
Looking at Caps/Bruins Over as well but it's not released yet. Also, have to see who is in net and such. It's late but something to think about.

CK,
How can Memphis be an "improbabale" win if they're -4??
I love Utah...but so do the books....-16.5. Isn't there a chance they go up 25 in the 3rd sit the starters....
looks like the books have some sharp lines...

Looks like Kevin Durant is questionable for tonight's game against the Grizzlies, after he left the game last night with an injured ankle. Anybody have any news on this?

repski, it is improbable because the Grizzlies are not better than OKC despite being favored in this game. I also like the Clips too as wangichu pointed out. The only thing that concerns me about that one is that the Bobcats are 4-1 straight up and ats on back ends, but with this being a 4th game in four nights for Charlotte, I think that the Clips will ge the job done. Although they are pretty garbage.

God I love your avatar. . . .
Yeah, I think those would qualify as well. I still believe in the phenomenon, but the last two Saturdays were a little uncomfortable.
Today's menu starts at noon with last possible play at 9pm, so I think I'll just relax and take it in sections, increasing my bet amount on winning results.
In addition, my only other play (so far ) is New Mexico -8.5.

With Durant out, the line just jumped to +7.5. I'm greedy and will probably take the ML... While their back-to-back numbers are awful, their last two were (@PHO, @GSW) and (@LAL, @POR), so you can be a little forgiving. Playing in Phoenix and Oakland back-to-back would wear out anybody.
OKC have shot for over 50% in their last 4 encounters with the Grizzlies, which makes me confident that they have their number.
