Starting Saturday (November 1), we will start a November Hoops Parlay Contest with a grand prize of a $200 cash account at BetPhoenix, 3 time roll-over. Second Place will be a $50 account and last place will receive a $25 BetPhoenix account with a 3 time roll over. If there is a tie for last place in both units and game-by-game record (15 parlay minimum), the last place prize will be divided equaly.

To be eligible to win prizes, all players must PM their BetPhoenix account ID to SBRforum Staff NO LATER than 6:00pm ET on Wednesday, November 5!


1. Check in the NBA BASKETBALL HANDICAPPING FORUM each day for the daily thread to be posted by LT Profits. Lines will be posted by 1:00 p.m. (ET) each day. Plays may be posted before that, but the official posted lines will be used for grading.

2. Posted spreads and totals are the only eligible plays for grading, no Money Lines or Halves allowed. NBA and NCAA Men's Colege Basketball will be included.

3. Two-game parlay picks, laying 10 to win 26. Post entire parlay at same time, no open parlays.

4. Here’s the catch: Your play must include a write-up! The write-up does not have to be long, just a sentence or two about why you are making your play. If need be, please refer to prior month's contests for examples.

5. Entries that are past-post or do not have analysis for both games will be NO ACTION. Once your two-team parlay has been posted, you CANNOT change either play. Any edited post will count as a *-LOSS! If you make a mistake (such as leaving out "Over" or "Under" or not clearly stating your selection), need to add analysis or wish to enter corrected lines, do so in a separate post. This holds true even if the first game on the schedule did not tip off yet. It also holds true for past-posts and entries with no analysis. It does NOT hold true for posts that are not parlay selections, i.e. standings, commentary posts or congratulatory posts. Any player with two edit violations during the course of the contest shall be ELIMINATED FROM PRIZE ELIGIBILITY.

*-EXCEPTION: If someone edits a post on the last day of the competition in an attempt to get an automatic loss in order to win the Last Place prize, then the player will be credited with a WIN.

6. And here’s the fine print:

• Must be 18 years of age or older to participate.
• One entry per household and IP address.
• Must use lines posted in daily thread by LT Profits
• Maximum one parlay pick per day, minimum 15 parlay plays required to be eligible for monthly prize.
• Tiebreaker for prizes - Win % of individual parlay legs. If still tied, combatants will carry on a head-to-head parlay match until winner determined.
• All decisions made by SBR with regards to this contest are final.
• SBR employees eligible to participate but are not eligible to win the monthly prize.

Phoenix -5.5 - With the absense of Kidd and Jefferson, the Nets just arent very good. I mean when Josh Boone is your starting center, you've got issues! I see Shaq Daddy and Amare having an absolute field day on Boone, Jianlian, Lopez and company. Phoenix in a landslide.

Houston -2.5 - The Rockets remind me very much of the Celtics last year. I don't see T-Mac and Yao staying healthy all year, but they are tonight. This is there chance to prove to themselves and all the haters that they are for real and a force to be reckoned with. They will want this one before they head out west for a ridiculously tough 5 game road trip. Boston hasn't looked good to date, and I anticipate it will take them 10-15 games to really hit there stride.

Well consider im taking the Under for both games and they both droped 2-3 points each. thats all im saying it helps out on a spread basis but not the totals.

Suns/Nets Over 202: New Jersey's defense is bad, and the Suns don't play too much defense when they are up by 15-20.

Suns -5.5: Suns dominated vs the East last year going an NBA best 24-6 vs the conference and the Nets are still a work in progress.

Celtics +2.5: Celtics got their ass kicked last game and figure to come determined and more focused to play better. Even with Artest the Celtics can shut the Rockets down defensively and have a slight edge offensively.

Houston -2.5 They are the best team I have seen so-far this year and for as good as the Celts are if you keep Paul Pierce to 20 points or below they dont have enough scoring punch. I think Ron Artest can do that, plus he will beat Pierce up on the offensive end with post-ups. KG isnt great offensively, he is good defensively, but who can really play D on Yao. Finally, the Celts got blasted in there first road game of season and lost a bunch of road games in playoffs.

Dal o 187.5 Spurs gave up 103 at home and way more than the oddsmakers thought they would give up to Portland. Dallas, I assume will be trying to win and they cant do that in a half court game. They should take the lead of Portland and Phoenix and get into uptempo matchup.
