Thoughts about the Basketball Contest???
Do you guys like the parlay contests over a contest making straight bets? . . . Figured I just throw this out there and see if you guys agree with me in perferring a different style of contest (maybe to be used for future months) If other just post your suggetion. . .

I like it. You can still see every1's w/l ratio, but this makes it so u have to be on top of ur picks each nite.

I'm not saying I don't like it, just curious of all the posters thoughts if they could choose. . . And always nice to hear others thoughts of improvements or other contests ideas. . .

I like it, but I'm pro-any kind of contest. I think SBR should have more contests in general.
I seem to recall the point of this one was to show that if you pick winners at a certain rate, then the increased leverage from betting 2-team parlays, even uncorrelated ones, would benefit you, even when taking into account the EV you are giving up by betting uncorrelated parlays.
Please anyone correct me if I am wrong or using the wrong wording.

Uncorrelated parlays have no value to me and feel they should never be played

On the other hand, Correlated parlays can be very useful to a good capper.

I like the parlay action - it should be your best 2 plays - wish I could break my maiden and score one.
It is lots of work for moderator - thanks - doing a great job.

I don't "prefer" the parlay contest over the other, which is the question, but it's a nice change of pace and more challenging.
Good work by LT keeping everything straight.

a parlay contest is better than not at all
especially better since it's basketball & not baseball
i don't mind the parlay format

My arguement against the parlay style is that is doesn't award the best capper for that month. . . The best way to attack this contest is not to play a parlay every day which takes some fun out of it . . .

I think the whole reason LT started this last year was to prove that this isn't true. The math behind it clearly isn't true.
