Default Time for the martingale strategy?

Including Boston's current win, home teams are 9-0 in the second round. Time for the martingale strategy betting ML on road teams?

I mean, there will NOT be four series like the Boston/Atlanta series (where the home team wins all 7). In fact, I'd be shocked if there was one series like that in the second round...

So, is it time for the martingale strategy betting ML on road teams? I think this is a lock if there ever was one.

A streak is going down tomorrow:

Home teams are 10-0 in the second round (including the Spurs current win)
The Lakers are 6-0 in the playoffs

One streak will end, one will continue. I'm saying the Lakers lose.

You need an excuse to use the Martingale strategy? Martingale wins by force no matter what. You simply need an infinite bankroll and a book with infinite limits, that's the tough part.

This 10-0 home record streak will be broken soon. That's why I'm asking: Is it a good strategy RIGHT NOW? You can always win with it but some time's it makes a lot more sense than others, obviously.

Right now, using the martingale on road teams in the second round is ripe for the picking. It will pay off soon, no doubt.

Alright folks listen hear regular season stats do not not mean as much as you think, just ask the Patriots. Time to be a NBA myth buster.
6-0 in the second round is the home teams record. Oh yeah that looks good but remember 1 thing thats not Utah's home record in the second round. But 6-0 is the LAKER'S record in this years playoffs. Utah is still 0-0 in the second round at home and 0-2 in the second round period! The other teams in the playoffs do not compare to the LAKER'S, the laker's are the most dominate team in this years playoffs by far.
Another thing to ponder since someone mentioned the Utah Jazz home record in the regular season. OK sure that was nice but didn't the Rockets win there in Utah a couple times. The Rockets also had the NBAs largest winning streak this year too, and Boston had the best record in the NBA and had a ruff time finishing the Atlanta Hawks.
Lets take a look back at the regular season heads up against the Laker's and the Jazz, and KEEP this in mind none of the games had Paul Gasol we will get to him in a bit. But look
    Date -Location- Results
    Nov 4 @ L.A. Laker's LAL 119-109
    Nov 30 Utah UTA 120-96
    Dec 28 @ L.A. Laker's LAL 123-109
    Mar 20 Utah LAL 106-95
OK from what I see the laker's spanked the Jazz this year, with out Gasol.Oh my bad they lost 1.
Not on to my final subject in the matter then u can decide who to pick.
PAU GASOL, the man from Spain joined the Laker's in the season and immediately fit into the Phil Jackson puzzle, shoot he looks like Phil Jacksons son. Well the only trade this year that had a major effect for any team was this one. Gasol has dominated BOO-zer in this series so much that every time you see BOO-zer on TV he has got a towel over his mug and is sitting on the bench, the last game alone i counted 14 times in which he was shown on the bench sitting there. That shows how much Gasols long reach and superb D has shut BOO-zer down. And if Gasol's D don't get you his Baskets will.
I have gave you a lil insight to the most dominating team in the playoffs this year no you can decide, on who to Pick my prediction is LAKERS 109 Jazz 105. In what ever you do good luck.

Nice write-up. This Utah/Laker game looks more like a pick than Utah -5. This is a tough game to handicap, imho. My heart still says Utah though:

HISTORICAL VICTORY PROBABILITIES: Up 2-game-nil at home:
Ignoring win order; considering site order: The team winning Games 1-2 with Games 1-2 at home (Los Angeles) has the following best-of-7 playoff series and games record through the 2008 NHL Quarterfinals and NBA Preliminary rounds:
series record, all best-of-7 sports, all rounds: 398-41 (.907)
series record, all best-of-7 sports, Qtrs round: 142-10 (.934)
series record, NBA only, all rounds: 168-10 (.944)
series record, NBA only, Qtrs round: 77-2 (.975)
Game 3 record, all best-of-7 sports, all rounds: 201-238 (.458)
Game 3 record, all best-of-7 sports, Qtrs round: 76-76 (.500)
Game 3 record, NBA only, all rounds: 67-111 (.376)
Game 3 record, NBA only, Qtrs round: 30-49 (.380)

These records are drawn from the applicable 1042 best-of-7 NHL, NBA, and MLB series played through the 2008 NHL Quarterfinals and NBA Preliminary rounds. Note in general that the greater the number of games or series fitting a particular situation, the greater the significance of the corresponding winning fraction: For example, 0.800 is far more likely to come closer to the true winning fraction in a given situation when the corresponding win-loss record is 400-100 rather than 4-1.

Time to gloat. I predicted the OBVIOUS. Of course the martingale strategy was going to win soon. There's really no room for gloating when something is so obvious and easy. As plain as the nose on your face, as they say.

I called this a lock in the first post and although everyone had to know that this was a lock, they still had to say "this is a poor strategy" and "this is a bettor's fallacy", ridiculous!

This was a case where you couldn't argue the facts so people had to just put down my post using broad generalities. The facts were in my favor, this lock was train coming down the tracks at a million miles an hour coming straight at you!

You're telling me this after I just won?

All you can do is answer with platitudes because this was a winning strategy and it always would win in this situation. The NBA playoffs can't be compared to flipping coins. The fact that you would even think of comparing betting on the NBA playoffs and coin flipping is simply too outrageous for me to contemplate.
