    Default I dont bet NBA....but....

What do you all think about the Lakers tonite....Man everytime I look at their spreads lately I just see money green...Won about five times straight on them (before Gasol pickup) and then Ive laid off waiting for the bad turn or streak...but it hasnt happened... I rarely bet NBA, and when I do I follow others, but I havent seen anything here at SBR on this game today...Portland 0-9 ATS last 9 home??? Small 7 point line...Lakers continuing to pound people at home and on the road...Whats the deal with this game man...what do you all think?

everything you said points to lakers, so go with portland or no play, look how the spread has dropped, tells you something

Take the Blazers ....they always play the Lakers tough at home...have won 4 straight at home vs them even with the crap Blazer teams the past two years before this season....they have also beaten the Lakers 25 of 33 at home since '92...incredible number ....also are 7-1 ATS over the last 3 years vs the Lakers as well....Blazers +8 for me and is my best bet today

i took lakers. as phil jackson said, lakers are playing great and it doesn't matter (anymore) if they are on the road or at home. so for me, -7 is too small. it's why i'm taking lakers. i don't think they'll lose to blazers. i'm also hoping that they pound on their opponents relentlessly so kobe can be taken out from the game and rest longer.

thats a good angle mundane, the rest kobe angle, see you should have your own thread for all your plays and then make great comments like these when other people want them

yes Lakers should win ...but look...on the road they've lost 4 in a row to this team with Kobe and a Blazer team much worse then today...I'll take 8 pts on a home team like this...if Lakers win 102-95...Blazers cover...remember if the Lakers get a big lead they will take out Kobe and a backdoor cover can easily happen here...

both of you have made really nice pts, mundane and pete, good cases for both teams so maybe the best play is no play, huh?

hoopster42: thanks for the kind words but im really a newbie to this. even newbier in betting - not quite familiar with sports lingo yet but im getting there i recently just started betting in sports (nba only) after all the recent trades - wild wild west! so far so good with my betting. 60-70% with my picks and little bit on the positive side moneywise.

Not a big basketball guy so take this with a grain of salt but...

Stats like 25 of 33 at home since '92 are pretty cool, but generally not all that helpful. Nothing that happened from 3 or more years ago is the least bit usable considering the fact that the teams have completely changed. Trends are fun, but they are dangerous. Always make sure you are looking at the game today and not games that happened years ago.

25 of 33 is really only in to reference that it hasn't matter who plays for the lakers...over the years shaq no shaq ...magic comeback in 95-96...hasn't mattered even with the blazers being one of the worst teams the past couple of years...they still play the lakers tough at home....

what are you talking about??I didn't talk about the heat last nite...and by the way I live in LA and have been a Laker fan for 27 years...so I know how they play vs the Blazers...that's all...I rarely play against them...and hope they of course win...I just don't think they will cover and feel strong enough about it to place a bet here....take the heat??? ha, that's the garbage team of the league...

i pondered about this heat vs sonics game tonight.... but with the line changes, i decided to not play it. also, it's too tough to call miami heat's game now. your not just considering the stats and numbers etc etc but you also need to consider that at any point of the game, pat riley might just decide to take out wade and just quit on the game especially if it's on the road and they're losing. at home, he's got the mgmt and the fans to consider. so he needs to sell his team, meaning he needs to play his stars (wade and marion) and try to get a win. that's my 2 cents.
