been real hot lately, hope the flames dont go out yet for me...

Hawks +5 (3 units to win 2) vs. Bucks - I'm getting the hang of this buying points theory but today's picks were a bit hard to figure out even with the extra points. These teams have played each other twice already this season, both each at home once. The home teams won pretty easily but they were both in early November when the season was still young. The Hawks have blossomed into a young team with deceptive skill. The Bucks are one of the bottom feeders of the league but are still respectable at home. The Hawks didn't expend much energy tonight with their win at home vs. Denver, they jumped out to an early lead and held on in the 2nd half. Both of these teams average 95.1 ppg on offense, but Atlanta only gives up 95.6 on defense with Milwaukee at 100.8. The Bucks at home are a bit better averaging 96.7 on both offense and defense. While the Hawks on the road only avg 88.5 and give up 93.1. You can do the math, I just lay it out for you. Atlanta also has the FT and rebounding edge over the Bucks.

What does everyone think about Knicks/Nets tomorrow night? I've bet againts the Knicks the last two nights and gotten burned but they look like a good play here. They have beaten the Nets two straight and looked very impressive against two good teams the last two nights. As usual they seem to play a little better without Marbury in the line up and have really been moving the ball well on offense. I really enjoy watching David Lee play and he provides the team with so much energy and while i've never been much of a Jamal Crawford fan the dude can score. While i can't imagine the Knicks winning three games in a row i am definately leaning towards them plus the points.

Posted this in the other thread, but this is what I think about the Knicks game:

This one can really trick you. The main thing they want people to think with this line is exactly what you mentioned. Another thing you have to look at is, can Crawford have an encore of the 6-7 3pt shooting? Are the Knicks going to be tired, even if it is across town? Will the Nets come out to kill the knicks after that pathetic performance? Few things to look at don't just look at the past 2 knicks games and the last nets game. GL.

screw it all...gonna go with my gut feeling...

Ind -1 1/2 (lost to GSW by 5 last time @ GSW, the extra days of rest and home court should help)
Ind/GSW under 222 (GS has to be tired after last nites game, and last time they played Ind they scored 207 total)
Charlotte +1 1/2 (char's more rested, and at home, and orlando's been way too flaky)
    Port +9
    Port/Bost Under 180
    NY +8
    NJ ML
    Atl +3
    Seat +11

    will update this tomoro

Boston game is going over. Doc rivers will be playing alot more time with his bench players so the heavy defense for the celtics on the blazers won't be a factor

Heat -3.5 Shaq coming back and Bulls are banged up and playing a back to back tonite.
Boston -7.5 don't forget this is Portland's 3rd road game in 4 nights and Boston gave up a 25-6 run to lose their last home game....big motivation tonight....just like Detroit was motivated last night and got a nice win after that horrible loss to the Knicks Sunday, I expect the same with Boston tonite.

Wow, it's like 10-to-1 in Portland backers to Boston backers. I like Boston tonight. I always scan the lines before I read this thread and I knew without a doubt that the majority would be on Portland tonight.

That's okay with me that so many are on Portland. I think Boston bounces back in a big way tonight similar to what Detroit did against Toronto.

Strong enough plays to parlay IMO:

    Portland +8
    Portland/Boston Over 178.5

    $200 to win $528.93

Portland is 5-1 ATS in January. 10-1 ATS off an upset win as an underdog. 8-2 ATS after a win by 10 points or more. The Over for Portland games is 4-0 when Portland is a road underdog of 6.5-9 points. For Boston, the Over is 20-3 when they play against Northwest division opponents.

Portland has proved themselves on many occasions in the past month and a half. I'll give the young and explosive team 8 points vs. the trio of veterans in Boston. Boston had 5 consecutive Overs, and then 5 consecutive Unders; I expect an Over for tonights game. This game should stay within 5 points in the last 6 minutes. Free throws at the end if needed. Boston wins 98-94.
