If your bankroll was extremely low then disregard this but you really shouldn't be a do or die on any play. You got to have some money management or else one day you are going to lose one of those do or die plays. You might win 2-3 times going all in but your luck will run out. Money Management is the only way to make it in sports gambling. Look at my record, It's not even 50% and even with the juice I am still in the + units.

It's like they say in poker... Going "all in" works every time but once.

The Mystics are 11-2 at home in the 1H SU so far this year. The Greek is juicing them -115 in the 1H. The Lynx are just 4-7-1 in the 1H this year. They have only had three road games in the last month so as of late they are 1-2 in the 1H on the road. I am considering taking the Mystics in the 1H tonight, this is a huge game for them as they hold the last playoff spot. They can not afford to be losing games like this at home. I expect full effort from them. Minnesota is coming off a tough loss off a buzzer beater and that could really be the dagger for them and their season. "It was an emotional win for them and a devastating loss for us," Minnesota assistant Jim Petersen said. Washington will be fully rested and prepared for Minnesota tonight having played 3 days ago at home so they didn't have to travel for this game. Minnesota has not had any time to prepare for Washington. Minnesota is on b2b and had to take the flight over last night.

I had done a writeup for the Liberty but the page reloaded right when I was about to post it and it got deleted. Basically NY has been very hot lately and been very good on the road in the 1H. Atlanta is one of worst 1H teams in the WNBA and has been bad as of late. NY has had a lot of rest for this game and should be fully energized and come out with a strong effort in the 1H. I expect them to win it outright.

Liberty win outright just as I expected! Mystics end up winning the game but blow the 1h. 1-1 on the night -0.1 units.

I am currently 25-27 with +0.5 UNITS. I am going to be making some big plays, if I hit them then I will call it a year for the WNBA. The plays will be rare but they will only be the ones I feel strongest on and will be unit'd accordingly. I am hitting a very high percentage on the bigger sized plays which is why I am not even hitting .500 yet I am showing a profit so I am going to stick with only those plays.

What is your money management strategy sweetjones? You managed to be +0.5 even though you are 25-27.. Feel free to post your secret strategy

Just go looking through the plays. I am not really hitting my 1-1.5 unit plays effectively but when I post those 2.5-3 UNIT plays they are hitting at a veryyy high rate.

Just a question.. Do you get tempted to chase your losses often? Because that always happens with me.. Like when i play 2 units and it loses.. my next play is like doubled.. and sometimes it pays off while sometimes it backfires and kills alot of my bankroll

Do I get tempted? Yes of course I am tempted. It sucks to lose money, you always want to get back your losses. But do I do it? No I absolutely do not chase.

The whole logic of chasing your losses is crazy to me. Why are you willing to risk more money when you are cold and not hitting games? Why not double your bet after a win so then if you lose you are just back to where you started? There are wayyyy too many people who up their bets when they are losing and shorten up their bets when they are winning because they don't want to lose the profit they've made. This is a major problem and I've learned not to do it. I've been gambling for around 5 years now and I don't think I'd still be doing it if I had that problem. All my friends see me doing well in sports and try to take a shot and always lose because of chasing. People just convince themselves that they CANT lose another bet, "No way can I lose seven games in a row, this is suppose to be 50/50!"

Don't chase, the only way to make money in gambling is slow and steady. You have to control your emotions after a loss and know that you can make it back and make back in timely fashion. Don't bet the 7-8pm NBA games and go 0-1 or 0-2 and then decide to triple you bet on a 10:30 game. You have to determine the amounts your going to put on games with no regard for the result of the last game or how you have been doing lately.

Also, take a look at this thread. There is a ton of info there on money management and longterm success handicapping. Most of it is at the beginning. I gurantee you will learn something reading it, a lot of longtime time posters came up with some great questions.

Thanks for the tip.. That's pretty much exactly what i did.. This season I'm going to keep records of each bet and how much maximum I'm allowed to bet each day.. I tend to chase when i bet first half and it doesn't go my way..

Don't do it especially on 2H plays because you have even less time to think out a 2ND half play since you only have the intermission to decide. Thanks a lot for the points.

I would think there might be good value on some of the bad teams playing good teams but you really have to know how many minutes the starters will play and all that. Read into all of the newspaper articles to find this kind of info.

I personally probably won't bet the games, I am just going to watch and take notes on the teams. Track when the starters are taken out, who replaces them, what positions everyone plays at, plays runned, etc. You can't get toooooo much out of preseason because the coaches won't divulge much but you'll see some things.
