Cavs are due for a loss and they have been on a long perpetual road trip. Spurs dropped their last home game in a tough loss to the Lakers in a game that was way closer than the score indicates. Spurs are 6-4 SU last ten but all of their losses came to good teams, Orl, LA, ATL, CLE. It's a no play for me but Spurs is the play

LB this is a good question and I will get to you later on that one. I am guessing you are talking about an opening line of -5.5 correct? That's a pretty complex question and I'll have to think about that one for a bit. I got to go to work now, be back later in the afternoon. Usually though any time I see a line right under an even number like 5.5 or 3.5 I usually think the other team is the correct play. The public just thinks, "O great my team just has to win by three shots or two in the 3.5 case". I'll come back with a better answer later.

When are you going to work?

Lol, I hope you don't try to sale cars on Craigslist, there have big warnings that offers to ship cars are scams!

Seriously, if I am shopping for a new car, can you give me a excellent deal?

I actually sold a 1999 Porsche Carrera a week ago in craigslist. Guy traded in a nice Ford F250 Harley also.

I can get you a great deal on very slightly used cars with like 1,000 miles or more. When it comes to Porsche, Audi, Mercedes and Ferrari no one can get a deal better than me since I'm mostly wholesale. We don't sell new cars unless it's a car that has a very long waiting list that we got on a long time ago like that new Mercedes SLS coming out. I wouldn't be able to give a deal on it, probably will ask for $20,000 over msrp.

Nice that restaurant business is tough. I heard like 90% fail, which two do you own? I'm just 23, graduated from the Univ of Miami in Dec, but I'd like to have my hands in other industries in the future.

I think we are on the same page.

I was saying don't just blindly change your play because capper X is on the other side, but if capper X has good info that makes you change your mind then that is fine.

The restaurants that i own wont fail. They are part of a big chain in canada. Cant name them for obvious reasons but im doing fine. It was along road filled with lots of greasy and sweaty nights. Not an easy road.

LB, you own restaurants. No wonder couple years ago, when you post your photos in the bar/restaurant in Dexter xmas thread, I thought you operate a local bookie or something .
With two restaurants on hand, how do you find free time to be around here that much.

I wasn't impling that they would fail, I was complimenting you that you actually own two restaurants in a business where most can even make one succeed.

I find time to be here cause i am self emplyed(owner) and have minions to take care of the places. I am in my stores about 25 hours a week. Anyways this thread is about questions for sj and i have one that im still waiting for the answer on.

Also what is your opinion of a -5.5 point road favorite? More to the point the actual spread of 5.5 not who is playing.

Well first off as soon as I see a 5.5. home dog I almost always wait to see what the public betting numbers look like and see how the line reacts. I hate betting huge public plays so I usually always wait a bit to get an idea of where they are going. Even though I can almost always tell which way they are going to place their money, I like to find out for a fact.

In the NBA though the teams that are perceived to be good teams are bad/below average on the road. Atlanta, Toronto, Charlotte, Miami, Milwaukee are all playoff teams and are generally thought of as pretty good teams but don't even have a winning record on the road. I would bet that most people don't even know that Atlanta is below .500 on the road. Bottom line the home team usually wins in the NBA so betting road teams to have to cover a big amount like 5.5 is also a tough proposition to take up. The Kings for example are garbage but I do not like to bet on them against home because they are capable of beating most teams on any given night at home, they get a ton of calls. I think in general +5.5 homedogs are good bets as long as they aren't playing a team that has a shot at the championship and it's not the Nets lol.

I see this line a ton for the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road in the last couple of years. In general, they do particularly well covering medium sized spreads on the road. They were actually favored by 5.5 in their last game @ New Orleans. I don't mind taking the Cavs, Lakers, Nuggets and a few other teams on the road as nice sized favorites. The teams I like to take with -5.5 road spreads mostly have similar qualities. They are known to pour it on people and blow people out. They have a good bench and don't give up leads when they take out their starters and give up stupid backdoor covers in the last 4 minutes of the game. The starters are relatively young and don't fade late often.

I think that your opinions might be shaped after tonites performances.

go look at the board and identify the games with this particular spread out there and see what the results are afterwhile

One night of a couple 5.5 point favorites winning or 5.5 dogs winning isn't going to shape anything. Anything can happen on any given night and it doesn't mean that dogs or favorites are the better play regardless of the outcomes. I'd lean Philly and Denver tonight. Utah and Indiana is very tough to call IMO.

    SJ,

Why havent you talked about series betting (making up your own series for hoops not MLB series)?
I play this all the time, if you dont know what it is I wont tell you, but series betting is $$

I know what that it is but I have done well doing what I do and I don't want to stop a good thing. Maybe I am just being cautious but I don't want to risk losing starting up a new style of betting and mess up what I have going.

Judging by your screen name, I thought you were a 50 year old guy of something. I'm graduating in two months from the University of Illinois. The job market is horrendous.

By the way, how do you guys get your hands on some many cars with 1,000 or less miles? How big of a discount can you give?

No I don't get cars with a 1000 miles or less. I usually get them with 1000+. I am own a wholesale used car dealershipl so I don't get new cars from factories. I do get a few new cars every now and then but these are cars that are on waiting lists that I get on long before people even know they are coming out. People pay a premium for car when it comes out so they don't have to wait.

Family business. It definitely was not handed straight to me though. I had to work all through high school, during summers, and all through college. I have already been working at the dealership for almost 9 years.

I read it and ran with it the day this article came out more than a month ago, but didn't have the balls to take the Pacers ml tonight. I always spend hours and hours reading stuff like this when I get back home from work, usually around 3 am (Pacific) and wait for all the lines to go out at around 7:40 in the morning. I also make it a point to read the injury reports, the team's local daily beat report and all the other theories and angles that comes out everyday hoping that I can guide my own way in finding the nuts, or am I just paranoid LB?
