Toronto +3 at Laker's: 1st quarter huge lean
I am seriously leaning Toronto +3 in the 1st quarter of tonights game. Toronto is one of the best teams in the NBA in the 1st quarter. I know LA is coming off of 3 straight losses and you would think they are going to be high as a kite in this one but Toronto plays well out the gate and the Laker's usually don't.
I'm thinking hard on this one and I think the Laker's will pull out a win but they may not cover the high line as well.
Thoughts?
Totally agreed. Lakers usually have a hard time getting things going in the 1st Q. The line is inflated. Lakers never cover anything DD even when they were playing well. I might have to tail you on this one. Good luck Mac!
I'm not completely against it. The Lakers aren't a team that's just gonna come out all motivated and energetic just because they lost 3 straight. If you read between the lines on all the recent interviews it seems like there is a clear divide between the team and Kobe right now.

I don't see as big of an advantage, Tor wins the first quater 60% of the time and averages .4 points more, LAL wins first quater 58% with an average of 2.0 points more than their oppenent.
Now factor in +3.5 for Toronto and the odds look pretty good.
Actually both teams average the same amount of points first quarter 26.9 but the Laker's clearly fading the last few games a little more than Toronto. Both teams are struggling but I expect Toronto to play them tough...

Dont like it Mac. Lakers will be fired up, especially at home. A day off. No way they come out flat.
I actually like 1st QTR play more than 1st half play.

The Laker's haven't been fired up all year long. In their last 10 games only twice did they dominate the 1st quarter. I know the Laker's need a win here but logic tells me that a team usually plays to their statistic's/abilities. Past performance is indicative of future behavior and everything points to them not covering -3.5 points early. Of course they might but you got to think they are what they are and won't. Tremendous value in this spot.
I hate hammering 1st Q's because you can get buried on some BS but I've got 5 Units on this play. If the Bucks cover I may put much more...
Believe me, im not a quarters better , and have learned in the past not to play Lakers 1st half, agaisnt shit opponents.
But 3 game losing streak, finally back home, a day off, I really really dont see how they come out flat tonight.
They may not come out flat but they just aren't playing good ball right now. They've looked better when Kobe wasn't playing. DFish has been God awful, Odum isn't interested, Gasol and Bynum are both playing with skirts on. Their bench sucks and you never know what your going to get with Artest. This team is offensively challenged right now.

Shit, the most I've ever betted on a basketball game was $7k, I've bet $5k a few times (lost my mind and bet $5k on the Clippers a few months ago). The fuking Clippers and of course I lost.
