Shoe, I'm not commenting at all as to other sports, I'm only talking about his NBA picks. Certainly his numbers for NHL and MLB are impressive.

However, picking -700 or -800 MLs in the NBA is not going to be profitable in the long run and his picks do not demonstrate knowledge of the NBA.

I wish success for everyone, but you'd be better off playing spreads or at least staying away from the huge MLs.
If you attempt to 'judge' a person based upon one game, it would not be the wisest of choices. Don't try to bring your 'holier than thou' into here - it's not welcome nor warranted - and tell me how to wager. The money lost has no relevance to you, yet you feel like you need to make a point about it. Far as your spreads and/or totals comment goes, guess you forgot about the best bet thread from a few days ago when I listed DEN minus the points which won. One should wager when there is an advantage be it spread, total, money-line, etc and the sooner you learn that, the better gambler you'll be. Next, the day/night is not over so while being down from the BOS wagers is enough to get my attention, I've been down much more this season and continue to battle back. Lastly, you and others are welcome to post your selections, with/without reasons, in here if you choose but do not come in here and try to act like you own the place.

Obviously I know that a single bet means nothing, I just used the Boston ML pick today as an example. Betting large MLs in the NBA is not a smart idea. This is not the NFL where teams have to show up every game. Every once in a while the LAs/Clevelands/Bostons/Orlandos just lay an egg. It's much wiser in the long run to cap games and bet spreads or smaller MLs.

As for your wagering when there is advantage, obviously that is true, but then explain to me the advantage a Boston -700 2nd half ML pick has? If all you had to do was pick the outright winner of each game to make money, everyone would be rich.

Thank you shoebox. Some get it, some don't. Others wait for a time when a couple wagers lose and then try to make insulting remarks. Nobody wins every day, nor do they lose everyday. You also need to realize, williams22 and I aren't on the same page and he'll take any cheap shot he can. with tonight's wagers.

For the record, my comments were made before the loss today. This just isn't a smart way to bet, especially when it's clear that basketball is not your strong sport.

Good luck to you in the future, I'm done here.

It is a well know fact that the NBA is not my strongest sport to wager upon, however; each person makes wagers in a manner that best suits them based on what they deem significant/worthy. Do you think I pick every -700 or -800 team because the books lined them up that way? If so, you'd be greatly mistaken. Earlier today had the Celtics either scored one more point and give up what they did, the wager pushes or scored two more points giving up the same amount, I would have turned a small profit from the game. It didn't work out this time. It happens and I've already moved on.

Portland won and COVERED in the last NBA selection for the evening. The night ended up going 1-2-0 and down 1.10 units. The siggy will be updated shortly.

I wondered when that question would pop-up.

They aren't tough to figure out but I'll go over each portion/section of the ticket.

What are those items? If you don't know, put your curser over it and it will read "Sun". Since there is more than one, it would be Suns as in Phoenix Suns.

This one was probably the hardest to figure out, but not difficult. The thumb is pointing down, as in south. In wagering, the closest thing to down/south would be "minus". A thumb up would be "plus".

The three reference the number of points in relation to the thumb. If there were two it would mean two points.

Those represent two units, one for each (unit). Been doing it that way for about a year in the other threads. If you see a it means ten units.

So putting it all together, we have Suns -3 for 2 units.

Suns were -13, not -3. Buying to -3 wouldn't be allowed at most shops and would cost a fortune if it was. You don't know basketball do you?

    Good morning Mo2Gotti,

Excuse me! I got -3, one possession, and yes the juice was high but paid it because I thought they'd win, over 95% chance, and wasn't going to drop fourteen-hundred to win one hundred on the money-line when for a little more I could double my return. How I do things may not be how you and others do them but they work well enough for my family, friends and self. Have a nice day.

You're right fsugolf. Also at times I'll use instead of If you get a chance, head over to the forum and find our thread there "No Rain Outs" and within the first few posts, you'll see more icons/symbols that I use.

No problem and you're welcome. Thank you and to you as well.

    Good morning oda11,

Unreal. If I meant -13, don't you think I'd list it? Words out on you, man. Keep it! Make sure you start hitting the thread once the regular season starts or you can come pick up a few units between now and then. When you get a chance fill the inbox as I've been re-grouping and somehow yours got dropped. Sorry, , I mean life happens. Dogs needs to go water the trees.

Howdy TA. Nice to see you killing it as usual

With respect to the big moneyline faves / buying points, have you looked into live betting in NBA? You can find huge value in the lines compared to the pre-game lines available. Yesterday I got the Celtics as +120ML dogs (Pinnacle) during the 2H against the Wizards, after the ML closed at around -900 before the game. Patience is definitely required, but because they're making the lines on the fly, there are some pretty soft ones on a regular basis.

    Good afternoon suicidekings,

No I hadn't, but do it with , when the situation presents itself. Thanks for the reminder. Wow, getting +120 is a huge value play as far as I'm concerned (less 4 of the 5 starters have already fouled out). Thank you and to you as well.
