Best Series bet for the first round: WARRIORS +320

Let's face it, the Clippers are pretenders, and can lose to anyone.
I like Golden State's showing in last year's playoffs (+600 winner over the nuggets in the first round), and think this team is way more hungrier and and determined than a questionable Clipps team.

The Clippers are a good team, but I don't see killer instincts and a team ready to make a jump and contend for a title. CO3 looks like that guy who will never get a ring.

The Warriors, although slightly less talented, have players that go hard every night, and look like kids that wanna go and get it.

    Lee can handle Griffin.
Curry has more heart than CP3.

I like this matchup and price.
I don't see how the Clippers are 3 times better than this Golden State team.

    GOLDEN STATE SERIES +320

    GOLDEN STATE GAME 1 +250

    GOLDEN STATE GAME 1 +7

a couple of months ago I would have agreed, but the clippers have stepped it up, they seem to be playing quality ball and I do see the passion in them, I dont know where you are getting the impression that they are not hungry enough

I like it, Clips aren't built for the playoffs. Transition is shut down when teams start playing D.

Agreed, even though Warriors aren't a majorly strong defensive team, but the Clipps wont be running wild like they do in regular season games.
Playoffs is when teams start focusing and clamping down.

CP3 seems to be a consistent failure in my opinion.
I mean, he's had some very talented teams in his career.
He almost got there once, but I think he's just one of those guys that can't bring a team a ring.
I could be wrong, but I don't like the Clippers as a whole for contending.
    Individually, they are great though.

I agree he is not the superstar that he was hyped up to be, but he doesnt have to be, he is a talented player on a talented team and as a whole they are good, if they are good enough for a ring only time will tell

Andrew bogut means the world to this golden state team. without him, you are relying on a very old and slow looking jermaine o' neal, rarely used mo spreights, to stop the young and athletic d. jordan, blake griffin.

Curry is big time. I rank him over Paul. But when u watch gs games the boy carries too much load for his scrub teammates.

Benny, CP3 is the most overrated player in the league. But what worries me is Griffin. Blake seemed to step it up a notch. Doc turned him into a all dunk guy to jump shooting-defensive player-go to guy

Chris Paul is the BEST point guard in the league also he is head and shoulders above steph curry. Of course curry is the better shooter but come on man how can you seriously say this crap about Chris Paul.

Also andrew Bogut was a vital piece to this team and really? Your expecting one of the worst defending power forwards to defend Blake griffin?????? What are you smoking bro

I respect your opinion Bear, but saying Lee can handle Griffin and Curry has more heart then CP3 shows the bias that is affecting your thinking.

With Bogut out they have no answers at all on the interior. They were already undermanned before the injury, now they are crippled. Bogut only plays 26 minutes a game and was the teams leading rebounder at 10 per game. He also never takes a bad shot shooting over 62% from the field. Infinitely higher then anyone else on the team. You can not expect a couple young guards to win a seven game series from the outside.

Cp3 probably top 5 toughest players in the league..they have everything they need to win the ring..not sayin they will but they have..great pg, power forward, bench, x factor i jamal c, top 3 coach in the league..it will be tough series but clips should still take it..

No Bogut, no chance. There are only 2 players who can play defence, it's Bogut and AI. Someone here earlier mentioned transition will be shut down when teams played D. The biggest problem is Warriors have the worst defenders.

Don't get me started on their overrated coach and 1 of the worst bench in the whole league.

When I was saying lee can handle griffin I meant numbers wise. They basically cross each other out. I wasn't saying lee was gonna shut him down or anything. Sorry for the confusion.
And yes I stand by my statement saying I think curry has more heart than cp3. When I watch curry play, every game he wants to win. He goes hard all the time. Cp3 definitely doesn't. Clipps can be a lazy team when they aren't in lob-city mode.
Cp3 is a great pg, I just don't believe in him with that unit.

Gl, but a couple things to keep in mind:

    1. Doc vs Marc Jackson....one of the best vs one of the worst

    2. Clipps defend the 3pt shot better than anyone else.

I like Clipps to win the series but Warriors will definitely have a shot.

Several guys have posted ITT that doc will be the difference maker. I really do like Doc but in the modern NBA personnel, mainly stars, win titles. Great coaches don't get a sniff without personnel. Currently in NBA there are 4 active coaches with rings. Two of those guys are not even considered elite coaches. the list of the last ten NBA coach of the year winners only one coach has championship rings, 2012 coach Popovich won nba coach of year, five years removed from his last nba championship.

    Current coaches with rings

    Popovich 2007 2005 2003 1999
    rivers 2008
    Spolestra 2013 2012
    carlisle. 2011

To prove the point that elite stars are needed for a title think about this stat. In the last 23 years there have only been 11 NBA MVPs . Also only three MVPs didn't have an MVP from another year with same team, on the roster. Just billups, dirk, and Pierce won title in last 23 years without another finals MVP on roster. so to put it simply only three titles in the last 23 have been won with a single finals MVP on the roster. The other twenty champions had multiple nba finals MVPs on the squad.

    MJ. 6
    Shaq. 3
    duncan. 3
    Hakeem 2
    lebron. 2
    kobe. 2
    dirk. 1
    wade. 1
    Parker. 1
    Billups. 1
    pierce. 1

Conversely the 23 years prior there were 18 different MVPs and two of the four multiple MVPs were teammates. One of Kareem MVPs was in milw and one was with lakers

    magic. 3
    kareem. 2
    bird. 2
    reed. 2

The Oracle is a fortress in the playoffs, but I don't see the Dubs pulling this off without Bogut.

    Good luck, Benny.
