Coming off a 2-3 day yesterday. For future reference whenever I say, "team x should win because they're just too good" remind me how square that is and to have my head examined. Anyway, here are my picks today:
ATS
Indiana +5: Indiana is still looking for their first win of the year. The Nuggets are a strong team, but this line appears about two points too high. I expect total effort from the Pacers today, particularly with Hansbrough out. This also looks like a good game to bet Ind 1Q, but I don't bet those. This is also one of those games that, if I look at it on face, it seems like Denver is the sure cover; there's no such thing as a sure cover. Therefore in those spots betting the other way is usually the play.
Detroit +7: Fading the steam here, Orlando is 3-0 ATS this year. The Magic are starting to get a lot of respect in the media and national "power rankings". They are also shooting a ridiculous 48% from 3-pt land, without Rashard Lewis. It is very unlikely that high rate can hold. I expect a bit of regressing to the mean here for Orlando.
Nice to catch a break for a change on the LAL/OKC over. Nice 5-1 day after two crappers. I also learned that Indiana just doesn't have enough weapons, particularly with their injury issues. The team they're fielding may be the worst in the NBA right now.
