Only 1 day left. For Tuesday I like Portland. Rockets aren't that bad this season as some guys think they are. But Portland at home should be a moneymaker all season long. Watch out for a blowout at it's best in game1.
After doing some more research this could be the first one and only play for me on Day1.
In the other Games I like Boston but I really can't put money against Cavs at home. So I am staying away from this. The Under for this game looks nice but I don't know if I can play this one as the lien already went down a lot.
Dallas-Wash is a nobet for me as I don't like to back Dallas without Howard. And Washington at this time is too much surprise-bag.
Lakers? If there won't be key role injuries I will add Lakers 1st half as a smaller play. Will decide this tomorrow too.

BL, I like the Rockets to cover the 9.5 and the Celtics to win outright. But it's the first day, so anything can happen (except the Lakers losing LOL).

And this is exactly why we should bet with caution the first days. Anything can happen.
I can see why you like the Celts as I do but won't bet on them. But why do you actually like Rockets to cover except for last results vs Portland ?
Portland is my strongest lean. At this point it will be my only play for tomorrow. I am thankful for any input on this Roag.

BL, I've watched most of the Rockets preseason games. They have a lot of over-achievers on their team, and several guys who can shoot the 3 to keep them in a game. I was never a big Yao fan, I think he held the other guys back. They're playing loose and aggressive, I think it will be hard for Portland to blow them out.
9.5 pts is a lot to cover especially when guys like Ariza, Brooks and Budinger can knock down 3's late to get the backdoor cover.
But this is my opinion only so don't let me influence your bet. If you're comfortable with it then go for it, I hope you cash it.

I share your opinion in a lot of points, roag. In this game a line of -9,5 isn't that much more than a line of -6 would be. Blazers will be hot like hell until the last minute of the game plus they will get huge support by their fans. I see them winning the 4th quarter big and this will hopefully make the cover cash. Maybe rockets will be a great dog-point-cover-machine in the later season. But not in game1.
I will put a wager on Portland tomorrow, looking for the best line to bet.

Well I actually don't see both teams running up and down like crazy. The games between those 2 teams usually go UNDER the total plus the opening line seemed quite high to me for this matchup. This is the highest total between Cavs & Celts since years what scares me of taking the under. But then the line dropped like crazy to 187in the first hours/days with a opening line at 191. But because I don't really know what to expect in this first game plus the Celts as possible 3point-monsters (  ) I will stay away, watch and enjoy.

GL this yr BL. My opinion on the Portland game, the last few yrs has Portland ever been that high of a fave to Houston. Houston seems to play them very well, they don't have Yao or McGrady right now, but they have played some of their best basketball when they are not in the line-up as well. But I'm kind of leaning Portland also actually!

thanks for your input, SM! Yes, they played even better basketball without Yao. But I don't think they are in the right spot to cover the spread right now. Later in this season we should watch out for the rockets to cover spreads we never thought of before.

I said all week the Rockets had the shooters to keep them in the game and get the backdoor cover. Unfortunately for me, they missed their last shot which would have made my 6 team parlay hit for over $400. Oh well.
Good luck tonight. I like the Cavs plus anything for sure.

I don't see Orlando covering 9 against Philly. Orlando has Rashard Lewis out on suspension for the first 10 games, make no mistake this is a big loss for them. Vince Carter is not a winner, that's why I don't care what people are saying about the Magic. Big deal they won the Preseason Championship, it means nothing.
Philly played them tough last year in the playoffs and can win in Orlando, and Philly are better this year themselves.
