1 unit is typically 1% of your entire bankroll. So, if your bankroll is $1,000 then $10 would be 1 unit. Other people use the term unit to describe their average bet size. Even if their bankroll is $500 and they are used to betting $50 a game that $50 would be construded as 1 unit to that person.
