Wow your bookie does International vs. NBA. I would jump on that quick if my bookie had that line. My bookie already knows any NBA team will blow out the International team.

So is Lakers -6.5 worth a gamble?

Tonight, I feel that the Clippers will cover. Even though it's a preseason game, there is a Rivalry between the two teams. In my opinion, the Clippers want this preseason win more than the Lakers. I'd expect to see more of an effort coming from the Clippers, and for the Lakers bench to get their share of minutes.

    Played at Staples Center...

Lakers will be without Gasol, Odom and Walton.

A couple general rules of thumb I find useful for NBA preseason:
    1. Don't take any favorite by more than 5 points (I like to buy down to 4 even)
    2. Don't take any team playing the back end of a back-to-back (The starters tend to get reduced time or the the night off entirely)
    3. Always lean towards the home team (Home teams play with significantly more energy in the preseason than the visitor)
    4. Fade the Hornets
