What's up everyone? NBA season is almost upon us so I thought I'd start a thread for all of my picks this season. Feel free to tail/fade as you like and always give me feedback on my picks, good or bad.

Normally I would stay as far away from NBA preseason as possible, but I really like one game tonight:

Charlotte v. Cleveland -8 (-110) to win 1 Unit

Cleveland has been dying to get back to the court after an embarrassing finish to great season last year against Orlando. I realize the starters will only be playing for one quarter, but it doesn't matter. There was no team in the league that had better chemistry last year and that will only increase this year will the addition of a matured Shaq and great chemistry guys in Jamario Moon and Anthony Parker. Expect to see both of these guys get some good minutes tonight. Anthony Parker is one of the most underrated players in the NBA right now. Don't believe me? The main reason I'm making this pick is the energy that will be in the Q tonight. Add a playful Shaq and J-Moon to an already tight team and you get a downright fun atmosphere. Newcomer Danny Green will be working hard to show off his talents, as will JJ Hickson to show off his newly in-shape self. Oh yeah, and they are playing the Bobcats! Best of luck to all!

Charlotte v. Cleveland -8 (-110) to win 1 Unit

Tough loss here. Didn't expect Mike Brown to go so deep into his bench for so long. Cavs played 13 bench players vs. Charlotte's 9. Even so, they still almost pull it out. Whatever the case, this serves as a reminder as to why NBA preseason should be avoided

When I saw the line I was like wow -8 Lebron isn't playing the full game lol. I'm not saying Charlotte is going to win but they have a bunch young good talent starting and off the bench. Charlotte is tough and they've beat the elite teams last year. I would be careful on this one but much success on your play.

Always dangerous betting on NBA preseaon, but I love basketball too much not to! I didn't expect to see a lineup with 0 real Cavs players for almost 10 minutes.

Yeah, they don't give the starters that many minutes, but 15 min is enough for Kobe/Roy and such to put up 15+ points...

The Lakers game tonight is a repeat of Wednesday's game, which the Lakers won handily 118 to 101. The Lakers played their starters and top bench players for longer than I had expected. There's no reason to pull back on their minutes in game 2. Also, keep in mind that home court has a larger than normal advantage in the preason as the road team rarely plays with much energy. Along these same lines, I like the Celtics to rebound after a tough loss on Wednesday night against the Rockets, especially at home.

The Cavs will be playing at home tonight before a 2 game trip to Texas. Expect them to put on a show in front of the home crowd with the starters getting 20-25 minutes each.

Lebron just got scratched last minute due to the flu. Also, he won't be on the sidelines, which could really go against Cleveland tonight. Looks like this pick may be in trouble. Hopefully Shaq can pick up the slack.

Yeah, preseason is tough. Cavs hung tough tonight without Lebron, Mo, and Delonte, but Mike Brown decided to use the second half to make final roster decisions for the 14th and 15th spots. My Celtics pick looks like a winner though.

Toronto is going to be dead awful this season.

I certainly agree. I think in general the strong got stronger and the weaker got weaker this summer. Lots of veterans moving to contenders to take a shot at a championship. The top teams in the league (Cavs, Lakers, Celtics, Magic, Spurs) all made significant additions this summer.
