Default Predictions for NBA 2009-2010 rookie of the year?

Predictions for NBA 2009-2010 rookie of the year?

    Let the thinking begin.

Please share your thoughts on the guys who may battle for the award. Blake Griffin seems like an obvious choice, but surely we can be more creative and think and/or list other potentials.

    Thanks

Too early. I think there are 4 or 5 guys that will be getting good minutes on playoff teams. I'll get back to you after I see a couple of preseason contest.

Always hard to say before the season has started, never know who is going to get injured or be an absolute bust from the word go.

Barring injuries it looks like Griffin is a pretty good bet.

Griffin, if healthy is so head and shoulders above everyone else there it's not even funny.

    How bout a dark horse?

I know the odds are slim to none but I would enjoy it so much.

i might be the only one here at sbr who has never ever heard of blake griffin, because i swear to GOD i have never heard of him or seen what he looks like. but i have a feeling he might be black, that at least i am pretty sure of with a name like blake griffin..

seeing how good he must be and everyone here knows him, i guess i should have known him too.

It's gonna be between 2 guys: Jonny Flynn and Terrance Williams.

    5 guys to watch

    1. Flynn
    2. Blake Griffin
    3. Earl Clark
    4. Jeff Teague
    5.Tyreke Evans

Earl Clark and Teague are both guys that I will put money on simply because they will be playing on teams that will be in playoff hunt, thus they will be playing with players that will make them look good on most nights.

Blair would be a good pick if I thought he would get 25 + minutes consistently. He will be hard pressed to do that with McDyess and Bonner on the team.

Anyone claiming Blake has a legitimate chance at Rookie of the Year is certainly not well-versed into NBA Basketball.

    y much

that pretty much said it all.

guards will have a hard time due to pressure of making a plays against bigger guards who had the luxury if beefing up as they get older and wiser in nba. so no way curry and company will win the award, even if the coach give them a lot of mins they should be earning. im sick and tired of coaches giving players a lot of playing time just to increase the rookies exposure. Experience cant be rushed.

with clippers history of players getting injured, griffin will get a lot of mins and easy points and rebs to get the statistical points. plays will revolve around him at least for this season, i dont expect baron will get tired of dishing it to him...at least for majority of this...one season

blake was the obvious number one pick. will start at power forward. about 6'10. can run and has moves. fantastic stats at college.

The injury to Blake opens the door for another player.

Curse of the Clippers. Blake Griffin will be out six weeks with a stress fracture of the knee cap.

    Only in Clipperland.

    Jennings, looking better and better

Amazing how someone can just come into the league at that age and drop 55 in one game (29 in 1 quarter)!!!!
