Default L.A. Sparks ML over San Antonio

This is the first recommendation I've made in the WNBA this season (and if I lose, the last). I think the Sparks will beat the Silver Stars on the road as they continue to tune up for a playoff run that they believe will lead to the WNBA Finals.

The Stars have won a couple in a row, including a critical win over Minnesota, solidifying the final playoff spot in the West over the fading Lynx. But they were pretty cold before that and they will not be motivated enough to overcome the red-hot Sparks, who will be pissed that they dropped a home game to Atlanta after winning 7 of their last 8.

Both teams are well rested, which only bodes well for the Sparks, who have been putting every ounce of energy into their remarkable stretch drive. I'm going with Los Angeles on the ML for this game.

The only thing that bothers me is that the Sparks were red hot the last time they went to San Antonio and they only won by one point in overtime. Not exactly a dominant win. I'm leaning towards the Sparks though, I agree with your analysis.

San Antonio have been playing horrific. The last two games they won were in OT and before that 4 straight losses. They've just been struggling and LA is just a better team offensively and defensively. They've been hot lately too winning 7 out of their last 10 games. And another key thing is Sophia Young is out. She averages about 18 points per game. In the 1 point loss in overtime against LA (in LA) she had 31...31 points. I think LA gets it done tonight.

I thought Sophia Young is questionable. Where did you read she's out?

I was leaning San Antonio but think just going to leave this game alone. I would take San Antonio as Sparks beat them last time in SA, so I was hopeing they would want to win and help their playoff chances.

I agree with that too but this game's also key for the Sparks. The Silver Stars are only 2 games behind the Sparks and they have one more head to head after this one. The Sparks should bring their A game for sure. If Young is out I'll go heavy on the Sparks.

According to Vegas Insider she's probable. I'm still mulling over this play. The Silver Stars are a weird team. Last year they made it to the finals this year they've been in a season long slump.
