He is like a cross between Dr. J and Chrles Barkley. He's an animal. I like the fact he comes into the first game in great shape. With all his disstractions I could give him a pass if he was a little soft to start the season. I saw him last night and he was in the best shape of anyone on the floor.

Seen him last year in OKC against the Hornets. Was fun to watch. When it looks like there is no opening, he finds it and makes that pass or side steps the defender to make an otherwise impossible play. Had fun.

He is different type of player. Also, he is pretty clutch. Last year he held the best FG percentage in the league for the last 2 minutes of every game. He has got a ways before he is close to Jordan. He still turns the ball over a lot, but he has a great ability to drive the basketball and get fouled and/or score. His defense could use some work, but Jordan's defense got special treatment anyways. Just my opinion.

He impressed me in the playoffs too. Didn't think he had it in him. Being from Ohio I like to fade the Cavs and Bengals because I'm tired of hearing stupid people try to say they are amazing when both teams still have a lot to prove. The Cavs won their first away game of the season in SA and that was a big step. I still think the Cavs struggle on the road this year.

The way game is played and especially called today is so profoundly different that the comparison is next to impossible.
Lebron has got all the superstar calls from day 1 and nowadays it seemes that any player going to the hoop will always go to the line. Lebron is ideal for this style of play.

Jordan however got manhandled near the basket before the "Jordan rules" were created. Pistons hit him hard as did Knicks. But Jordan was still very effective and brought home the rings.

Scoring is up all around the league. The game is faster. That means more points, rebs and assists for everyone. D is down. Lebron falls asleep on D. These 'superstars' get scored on in ways that would embarrass the old guys and keep them awake at night, 30 points or not.

We all probably remember when AI took MJ one on one. MJ was crouched down on D like you don't see anymore and AI stuck a jumper in his eye. He was older and showed he wasn't all-D 1st team anymore. Now, that happens to everyone on a daily basis.

You don't want your kid watching NBA today. It's like watching the WWF with someone about to join the wrestling team. Great game to bet on though.

James will be right up there with Jordan when it is all said and done for LeBron. Remember, he came in at 18 and is only 21 right now. He is probably just as popular as Jordan was, if not more.

Lebron isn't better than Jordan at his age for one reason Jordan had a crappy shot when he was the same age Lebron has an even WORSE jumper at his age. A superstar in the league at the 1-3 spot should never shoot below 80 percent from the FT line it is a joke the way he shoots the ball. His defense lacks the whole game, because he has to have energy to get to the basket otherwise he would average 10 points per game. Once defense and Shooting gets better this might be a conversation worth having until then its no use.

At age 22, Lebron has 4 yrs of NBA experience.

At age 22, Jordan had 1 yr of NBA experience (he left UNC after his junior year).

College experience and NBA experience = two different things.

I love Lebron, but try again on this one.

Good point. He has a lot of time.

But, these guys who come out of HS get old quick. Consensus in other threads is Kobe's D is not what it used to be and he can't jump out of gym the same way. He's 28? People talk about KG like he's 40. These guys all get knee surgeries in their late 20s.

If you look at both of their 4th year in the league MJ is the better player in the better, and slower, league. James played about 250 games while MJ was still in college.
