So I usually bet through a bookie, sometimes this can be a great thing and other times not, for several reasons I won't take the time to type. I have considered online play but every once in a while I hear about someone not getting paid or not getting paid in full, can someone enlighten me with a first hand experience? Secondly I live in an area where gambling is illegal but I have also heard there are ways around that, could someone whos been in the same boat explain these to me?

Use TheGreek, or Pinnacle. They aren't flashy books, but they're reputable and will pay you when you win.

Look at the Sportsbook & Industry part of this forum and they will answer these types of questions. Plus there are plenty of horror stories about not getting paid, getting bambozooled , etc.....

But to answer your question, I have never had a payout problem with any of my online books. I have a local and 4 online books. The ones I've used and got paid within 3 days every single time are thegreek, betjam, 5dimes and legendz. The ones I like best are 5dimes and betjam because there's no withdrawal fee and the juice is low. The greek has the earliest lines, but high juice. Legendz, I cancelled long ago after their -105 promotion.

Well Pinnacle is not open to you if you are American, and Greek is terrible for baseball (although it is one of the best for everything else). If you bet less than $500 per game, I'd recommend 5 Dimes as they have nickel overnight lines and lots of nice props. BetJamaica is also good for bases for smaller bettors. If you bet BUG money, I like Diamond for baseball, as they are the same as CRIS except that they have dime lines.
