Default End of NBA Season, Already interesting Storyline (Shaq to Cleveland?)

I am sure those of you who watched the game saw that Cleveland is in talks with Phoenix to acquire Shaq. My question is what will they have to give up to get Shaq? And will they be able to dethrone Kobe afterward?

I still can't see any team in the east getting past a healthy Boston. However, I would need to see what Orlando looks like next season and if D Howard learns some offensive moves...

Boston's old as hell. Boston and San Antonio aren't going to do jack shit for years to come. It's over for them.

Sounds like Cleveland is kicking themselves for not making a big enough move to get Shaq in a trade for this season. I think they're a season too late, they could've made a hell of a lot stronger push in the playoffs had they followed through instead of trusting their bigs to get it done.

This just means they will do the move now, and when it backfires, lose Shaq to retirement and Bron to Ny next summer...

With that said, my early Finals prediction for next year is Hou vs Cle. I ofcourse, will be wrong, but whatever

Wally and Pavlovic was an even better trade this year because you could then dump Wallace this year as well. Danny Ferry blew it on this one. He should of dumped those guys like a bad habit. Hell I would have thrown Wallace in as well. None of those guys did shit in the playoffs. Ferry sat pat because Delonte West went down and he didn't want to lose chemistry and/or Gilbert didn't want to pay the extra luxury tax, cheap bastards.

Although this is a year too late, I still like the move. If Shaq can stay in shape and have a year like this one (which I suspect he will with Lebron on the floor with him) Cleveland will be very good.

I still think they need to upgrade the 4 of course but also the 1 and 2. Delonte and Mo are not starters in this league. Neither can be counted on in crunch time in the playoffs. They are serviceable in the regular season but horrible under pressure. They both should be coming off the bench. You probably can't get 2 players to start in front of both but at least get 1 person to fill 1 of them.

Cleveland has to upgrade their talent. They are pathetic. Lebron is the only guy on the team that should be starting.

Shaq at worst is a huge defensive presence who is good for about 10-15 points per a game and constant double teams.

The move is risk free because it's for 1 year and they are still ready to unload contracts for 2010 including Z's $10+ million and Ben's deal comes off the books in the process. Cleveland will have plenty of wiggle room to make any move in 2010, like get Chris Bosh, maybe even go after Artest, Ariza, Birdman, Zach Randolph, etc...

Its time the cavs got rid of lebron- hes proven to be a sore loser and a pu$$y- face it mac4lyfe- your haunted 4lyfe- but i would love for them to get shaq and win it and then everyone to say lebron cant win without shaq

I really could not see Birdman selling out Denver when they took the chance with him. Randolph is a bum. Ariza and Artest would be nice additions to the Cavs.

Amare is a huge risk after microfracture surgery. Shaq is the better deal from the Suns. Kaman and Camby are good choices with the Clippers but Zach...

This guy is a walking double double. He can score in the paint which the Cav's sorely need and with the Clippers picking up Griffin, he should be the odd man out. Cleveland hasn't had a scoring 4 in forever. This guy can play a solid 4 and add Shaq with Z and Verajao off the bench and your bigs just got upgraded immediately.

The only issue with Zach is mentally. He can be a head case and at times refuse to play defense but he could thrive in Cleveland. Lebron won't take shit if he slacks off and Mike Brown is good at getting blood out of a turnip. This guy is a diamond in the rough.

They still need to address Delonte and Mo. One of them should not be starting.

If I were the Cavs I would trade for Amare Stodemire. And pick up some free agent(s) like Ben Gordon, Hedo Turkuglu, Odom, Ariza, DAVID LEE, Marbury, maybe Bibby, ARTEST and the list goes on. There's no exscuse for the Cavs general manager. I would dump/trade of Sasha Palovic, Wally Scherviak, Illguaskis... Z, Ben Wallace, keep Booby Gibson, and the rest of those reserves lol.

I realize it's risk free... I just mean it'll prob backfire because they probably won't win it all and if they don't, Bron walks IMO

Had they acquired Shaq this season, they may well have been celebrating tonite

Probably backfire... It's Cleveland, of course it will backfire but at least we can have some hope before the fall

Even with Shaq Cleve will not duplicate this past years record. They played perfect all year.

I'd be real concerned with a SHAQ injury and would pass on trade. Time will tell.

Shaq for Ben Wallace, Sasha Pavlovic, and a second round pick. Going to be an interesting day tommarow, cannot wait for it.
