Ck's WNBA Report Tuesday 6-9-09

I today's action we have the Seattle Storm heading out on the road to play the Indiana Fever. The Storm are a playoff tested bunch looking to improve their record to 3-0. On the other end of the spectrum is the Fever 0-2 and searching for answers.

Things don't look too good for Indiana when you look at the history of these two teams and see that Seattle has beaten the Fever 3 straight times by an average of 9.5 points. Yet the Fever are 3-1 at home against the Storm winning by an average of 15 points.

The Fever have been assigned an average line of -4.5 at home when these teams play. So anything under that is a good bet. I don't think that the linemaker would be that crude as to make the line Fever-4.5. I think a line of -3 would be more like it. We will see. I capped this game out to Fever winning by 8. If the Storm are actually favored in this game it will be a mistake and a false favorite will be being offered by the books. There's only this one game on and the line hasn't come out yet? Come on..

The truth is that the public will lay the Storm thinking that the Fever are a chicken dinner. Rolling with the home team on this one, playing with a sense of ugency. If they are offered as a dog, then I will simply take the moneyline and do away with the points. Triple revenge and 0-2 on the season, and playing at home off of a home loss? I'll take it.

These teams usully go over the total too, so I will be taking a long look at the total.

Like the analysis CK. I was leaning Fever too, I know nothing about WNBA, but I know Fever was favored the last 2 times and lost both times, which means they are a pretty good team that lost in OT and had to play a back to back OT with travel. They desperately need this home win to avoid starting the season 0-3 and losing 2 at home.

Seattle is a defensive juggernaut. Indiana on the other hand used to be a defensive juggernaut. They are down 0-2 to start the season and IMO try get that defensive mojo back in this game at home. Expect to see some bricks and sloppy basketball tomorrow.

Actually the line came out at Fever-4.5. Then the public as stupid as they are pounded the Storm and the line went down to -2. So I will be taking the Fever at -1.5 HEAVY by buying a hook.

I like the fever to win by 6 points tonite. By book, the greek, is allowing me to wager to win 1000 on the storm but only to win 500 on the fever. Seems like the book does not want too much action on the fever. When I call my book they tell me that I can wager as much as I want on the storm. Taking the storm is a trap by my sportsbook. I call it the public trap.
