Default Does JJ Redick play in the NBA next year?

I dont think Orlando picks up his upcoming option year. He is supposed to be a 3 pt bomber, but cant hit an open shot. He is on the right team for him to succeed, but hasn't shown a glimmer of hope. I think he has to go oversees to get a job next year. This is coming from a Duke fan too.

I agree. I think its comical when they leave him one on one on Kobe Bryant, gimme a break.

ya there is no way he should be in the nba
im also a duke fan and he absolutely sucked in game 2 shooting 2/9 with a big turnover though van gundy is a moron for playing him for 27 minutes
hes just not built for the nba and i was shocked too see him go so early in the draft

wasnt pietrus and lee in foul trouble early. i cant believe people are blaming redick for this loss. the fact is that Dwight Howard hasnt done jack shit in the first 2 games and he gets off the hook

J.J. Redick will play in the NBA next year. Do you know what team is looking for a shooter, 76ers. I wouldn't be suprised if they signed them. J.J. Redick just needs to get his confidence up a lot of times when he got the ball he didn't know what to do with it. He still has that rookie mentality, he has to be more aggressive. If Mbenga can receive a contract I'm pretty sure Redick can too lol. And lets not forgot how helpful J.J. Redick was in the 76ers series. But J.J. Redick did his part yesterday he hit that big 3 to tie it 84-84 in the corner. It was Lee who cost Orlando the game TWICE. The wide open miss floater and the alley-layup, TWICE. But it happens. That kind of reminds me of when the Bills miss the field goal against the Giants, they just couldn't get the job done. And also Dwight cost them the game as well with SO many turnovers. But I expect Orlando to bounce back and be fired up game 3 and most likely win.

He DEFINITELY plays next year - and contributes. Although he was cold last night, remember he hadn't played in weeks. What do you expect?? And, as ST points out, he did hit a big 3 when it counted.

He drove the lane at will. The only problem, as Jeff Van Gundy pointed out, was that he wasn't looking to go to the basket except for the one big layup he had in OT. Instead, for some reason, he kept passing it to guys on the perimiter. Had he been more offensive minded, the Magic wins last night and he's the star.

If you're a shooter, you will have a place in the league. He'll definitely play next year.

He will play, it is hard to get like 12 minutes a game and shoot well. He held hos own last game playing late in game and played good D.

I love how Jameer Nelson plays 23 minutes in game 1 goes 3-9 6 pts 4 ass 1 TO 2 Reb and gets ripped. GayJay Redick plays 27 minutes in game 2 2-9 5 pts 1 ast 2reb 1 TO, and hes the missing link and needs more playing time?
ORLANDO FINISHED AFTER LEES MISS. How about Redicks wide open miss in OT that would of tied it at 94?

he plays next year and will be a solid 12-15pts 5-7asst. guy when he gets away from orlando. its a fact that van gundy just doesnt like the kid. he told the orlando gm and owner that he wouldnt play him unless absolutely necessary. he didnt like his attitude in college and doesnt want him on the team. thats why he doesnt play him much. you clowns act like a guy should come off the bench and play 12 minutes a game and make every basket and no mistakes. you try sitting on your ass until the middle of the 2nd qtr.(like he does most games) before getting in the game and see how stiff and cold you get. he had a bad game the other night, i agree, but he is one of the purest shooters in the league and when he gets traded to a team that will play him, i think he will prove himself. no, he cant guard kobe, theres less than a handful that can, but reddicks defense has greatly improved in the last year. van gundy just doesnt want him and wont play him...just more shit coaching from a shit coach.

J.J. Reddick is easily going to play in the NBA next year, lol. Some stupid team will pick him up...I've seen worse players get picked up by other NBA teams, instead of going overseas!

The irony of both JJ Reddick and Adam Morrison (former college standouts averaging alomost 30 pts a game their senior year) not nearly relevent to this series by any means is just mind boggling if you would have told me this 4 years ago when they got drafted. They have been a clear disappointment in this league. I thought we had some hope as white basketball players to really have some success with these two clowns in a league that white players are a huge minority. I was wrong on my assesment.

I would love to see more White players in the NBA. They're virtually extinct and the future isn't looking any good...

There's probably more White talent overseas in Europe that'll come here than homegrown White American players. That's sad.

Yeah, well, he was drafted by Michael Jordan. MJ isn't exactly known for good draft picks,

id take either redick or morrison on my team as a flier...

not sure either will fully develop but they can both shoot the basketball... JJ will prob have a better career tho. I can see him bouncing back and putting it all together

either that, or they both retire and become college coaches lol

regardless of whether he plays in the nba or not

he is not a nba player, hes too skinny and unathletic to ever have a significant impact ever...anyone who knows anything about the nba would know that

i hope he plays 20+ minutes again today so the lakers win

Looks like he won't be playing for the 76ers. They just traded Reggie Evans for Jason Kapano.

JJ Redick has the ability to average 14 points a game in the NBA. He is very smart and of course one of the best shooters to ever live. If you stick too close to him he can drive around you to, he is more athletic than people think. His main attribute is his basketball IQ.

Let him get use to the NBA 3 and more playing time and he will shoot 45% from 3 range.

He can dunk off 2 feet with 2 hands easily. But still he is below average athletically for an NBA player. But still better than you think.

Oh yeah, he hit that 3 to tie it up close to the end of the game last time. He is clutch. Ice water in his veins.

1 of 4 things happen with Redick in the Off-season, Listed from Most Likely, to least likely, but 1 will happen.

    1. Orlando Resigns him
    2. Signs with Clippers
    3. Signs with Phhoenix
    4. Signs with the 76ers

JJ Redick is hitting 38% in the playoffs from 3 point range. That is what his job is, to come in and shoot 3's. He is averaging 6 PPG in the playoffs in only 21 minutes per game. From the free throw line in the playoffs he is hitting 92%.

His regular season stats are nearly idendical across the board. He is only 6-4 190, what a great talent to be so small. Hard to shoot over all the tall guys guarding him yet he still hits almost 40% from 3.

Isn't he like the NCAA career 3 point leader? LOL he aint going ANYWHERE. He is staying in the NBA for a long time.

Redick is from that Legler, Price, Kerr mold. He'll be in the league longer than Morrison. I don't know why the Bobcats signed Morrison to a 2 yr extension. After next year is over, Morrison will be out of the league. Like someone else said, shooters will always get that extra chance because teams out there need them.

I wasn't a Redick and Morrison fan in college, and I knew they weren't going to be good NBA players. I wasn't rooting against them though. I still hope they can turn it around. I'd take Redick on the Lakers before Morrison.

but who cares, though? i wouldn't care if they were all brazilian immigrants, if they were the best players in the world i'd watch it every night like i do now. and i'm white, for the record.

jj reddick and adam morrison both blow. and for the record, so does andrew bynum. how does that ****er consistently get off the hook, and whenever he goes down everyone wonders how the lakers can win another game without him? "if the lakers had bynum healthy last year, they felt that he would have been a key component to beat the celtics." it's lunacy, the kid BLOWS. someone else please say it too. young, inexperienced, my ass. talk about people who will be out of the league in a couple of years...he'll be one of em.

whew, that -4.5 is starting to kick in, i guess.
