Default Leans for Wednesday 2/25/09 featuring schaapattack Week

Well went 3-4 yesterday, and that doesn't sit too well with me. Not quite what I had in mind when I laid the wagers, lol! But anyway i am back at it again today with more plays for the hardwood. Today however, I am going to ride with a PC Boy.

I am scrapping my play book to ride with Grumpy, one of the PC Boys today

I have changed my plays to:

    Denver-7.5 (hook buy) Heavy
Notre Dame-13.5 (hook buy) Heavy Bacon Grease Play of the Day
    Clemson-6.5 1st half
    New York/Orlando over 106 2nd half
    Boston-5.5 1st half
    Denver-4 2nd half
    2nd half over 101.5 Boston/Clippers

    schaapattack plays:

    CBB

Colorado State-2.5 (NO PLAY for me)
    Marquette-1 (NO PLAY for me)
    Pacific-9 (NO PLAY for me)

***There are many more to choose from on his page in the NCAA threads

    NBA

New Jersey-1.5 (NO PLAY for me on this one. Bulls are too hot for me to fade)
    Minnesota+6.5 (NO PLAY for me)
    Sacramento+3.5 (NO PLAY for me)
Washington+4.5 (NO PLAY for me on this one. Philly needs a win too bad)
San Antonio-4.5* (schaapattack's Best Bet, NO PLAY for me)
New York+2.5 (NO PLAY for me. I can't go against Magic 2 straight days)

I don't think the line will be 10, but I think the Celtics are up for a surprise. Clippers got enough Guards to give ray, pierce and rondo a workout. Camby and Randolph should do well inside.

    CK,

as much as you can speak on it, how was tonight's game a cover for the bobcats? as far as I know, the most anyone got was a push w/ the points buy, which means they're still out A bet money. I don't think I'll ride the cats tomorrow anyway, but just curious how that works.

After a glance at the board, I was leaning towards the Kings as well. Also will be taking a hard look at the Spurs and Timberwolves.

    Tomorrow's play:

    line: mb+7@dm
    pick: mb+7

    Trends:

    - The Bucks are 6-0 ATS against the Southwest this season.
    - The Bucks are 17-12 ATS on the road this season.
    - The Bucks are 3-0 ATS after playing 3 consecutive home games this season.
    - The Mavericks are 1-5 ATS against the Central this season.
    - The Mavericks are 10-17 ATS at home this season.
    - Head to head, the Bucks are 5-0 ATS and 2-0 ATS in Dallas the last 3 seasons.

The Bucks are coming off a 2 days rest where they are 5-2 ATS in these periods. They catch a Mavericks team fresh from a loss to a Ginobili-less, Duncan-less Spurs. Both teams are currently at the #8 spot of their respective conferences. The Bucks although without Redd and Bogut have done very nicely with the emergence of Charlie V and Ramon Sessions. The Mavs are missing Terry's offense as shown in the loss to the Spurs. When you look back at the head to head trends, the Mavs have yet to cover against the Bucks in 3 seasons. I see no reason why this trend should change tomorrow. Expect a tightly contested basketball game between 2 teams vying for a playoffs spot tomorrow my friends.

A push is the same as a cover in that system. Lay off of them now as this is their third road game and fatigue will set in now. The Kings are viewed as an inferior opponent by the Bobcats. They never win when they aren't supposed to do so.

    hi there wolfy!

the clips do have better players on paper but their coach really sucks. the better system should prevail here and i think Doc is way better than that senior Dunleavy. chances are the clips get blown out tomorrow. jmo.

The line was Boston-9 last year in this same situation, and they blew the Clips out by 28. The line cannot be less than that this time. it will be 9.5 at the very least. Hurry up and make a deposit. The 1st is right around the corner, lol!

I always love the Celtics and I just laugh when people say they are up for a surprise, no cover is ever guaranteed but they are on a mission without Garnett playing and can cover against any team on any night. Last night people were saying Denver is the for sure play and they lost by 30!!!!

Nah, I had Boston on several games including the game against Denver. In no way am I saying there is no chance of Boston blowing the Clippers out, just saying I wouldn't be surprised if Boston had to work for this one. They will underestimate a healthy Clipper team without KG. Anywhoooo GL!

Dude, cnleaf, why did you play on Detroit? The Knicks are playing better ball than them.

"About Boston "Baron Davis might go for a triple double again and the Clippers might try to impress everyone by trying to beat the Celtics...so that's not a definate..."

Teams not to play on (for the most part)... Detroit...Knicks...Bulls...Wizards...Bob cats...Kings...T'Wolves...Thunder...DENV ER...Memphis...DALLAS (against team above .500)...Hawks...Warriors on the Road...Clippers...Nets...Heat...76ers..T oronto...PHOENIX...Pretty big list yea but I wouldn't risk my $$$ on them...

I disagree terminator, making money in NBA isn't about betting on only the elite teams. You need to find mismatches and different angles that each game represents and bet on it. You are never gonna win all bets but getting on the proper side win or lose is only thing to do.

The Sixers will travel to the nation's capital to take on the hapless Wizards. We have a great situation as the Sixers have lost 4 straight now including a heartbreaking half-court buzzer beater by Devin Harris two days ago. With the Sixers still battling it out for home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs, I fully expect this squad to run it down the Wizards throats. They are 3-1-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings between the two teams, winning those contests by an average of 7 points. I see the spread at -4.5 so I will try to buy a point to get under the key number. With or without buying a point, I still expect the Sixers to get back into the win column tomorrow.

The contest between the Magic and the Knicks tomorrow should be a high scoring affair tomorrow and rightly so. The Magic lead the league in 3 pointers made at 10.5 per contest while the Knicks have the third worst defense, giving up about 108 points a game. However, the Knicks also can shoot with the best of them as they are second in the league (behind the Magic) with 10.4 while the Magic are the second worst at allowing their opponent to knock down jumpers from beyond the arc at a little bit over 5 per contest. Gentlemen, expect to see a fireworks show tomorrow as both teams will make it rain from everywhere and anywhere. The OVER is also 4-1 in the last 5 meetings with the lone exception being the last meeting between the two teams last April. If the Magic can give up 120 points to the Bulls on the road, imagine what the Knicks can do at home.

l0l keyword for the most part... i agree it's matchups... but would you honestly play large on Detroit....Bobcats...etc....let's take those two teams... that game could go either way l0l...

The Knicks beating Orlando is possible but not likely remember we're talking about the Knicks people THE KNICKS...I could see a blowout with the 76ers...washington is an extremely weak team despite the huge let ups and inconsistency by the 76ERs.

But the obvious pick tomorrow moneyline is the New Orleans winning over Detroit....next Utah winning over Minnesota

utah on the road against the timberwolves...give me the twolves +6.5. they'll try to play boozer more and it will screw them up. utah don't play well in minnesota either. and i've been on utah three games in a row. talk about a position for a letdown in minnesota...this is what ck is talking about (please correct me if i'm wrong) when he says he's looking for the most unlikely of situations.

which one of these teams has lost three in a row straight up? which one of these teams is due for a loss, and isn't so good on the road?

sports terminator, not trying to disrespect, but diamonds in the rough are how to beat the books, man!!

best of luck to you, bro...at the end of the day, to each his own.

Utah is still inconsistent on the road. You make a good point with Boozer too. He played limited minutes his first game back and I'm sure they're slowly working him back into the rotation.

and didn't they really want to beat the lakers, almost did, but didn't? we're not talking about the jazz, here, we're talking about the best team in basketball.

this may have talked me into one of my favorite plays of the day tomorrow.

    thanks, guys!!!!

man, is it me, or do we have a stacked card tomorrow? i'm liking

    minnesota (see above)
    philly
    indy
    orlando
    chicago
detroit (yeah, i know, right? new orleans back from a three game road trip, and detroit has got to get it together sometime, why not in new orleans, where they are 4-0 in their last 4 in new orleans? remember, new orleans is not hot either)
    boston
    denver
    milwaukee

someone knock me off some of these games before i go 0-9.

I donno if Lakers should be the team you use for that TEX. I'm a huge Lakers fan and watch all their games, this team rarely tries against the lower tier of teams. Don't play much D, and just try to outscore the other team leading to many close games against bad teams...Utah is a little more disciplined but they really do suck on teh road, so thats prob a better reason to bet against them than wat Minn did vs LA

whatisit, if you're going to knock me off a team, please, knock me off the friggin team!! lakers are a way better road team than the jazz, and will blow off opponents when they can, like last night against the thunder. that is not an isolated incident. i agree that they should blow out everyone, but it's just not going to happen. the jazz will not be blowing anyone out on the road, nor will they be able to handle a much better t-wuffs team than they're used to facing.

    i am tough but fair.

Hey Kid, I'm not so sure about your Philly pick. with Philly losing their last 5 ATS and 4 of them SU this might be a good spot for Washington to get a win, since Philly beat them twice in December and once last month they have lots of reason to play hard tomorrow and get some revenge with the home crowd behind them. If they don't win then they could get the back door cover. The over might be a better option with 5 out of the last 7 played between them going over the total. Jmo

Not trying to knock you off this team, was just letting you know almost beating Lakers shouldn't be the reason as many bad teams have played them close...on Minn myself as of right now as Jazz suck on the road

gotcha, sorry bro...i promise i didn't mean it the way i said it.

schaap, I love ya, but you're wearing me out. I don't think that I have wagered on this many games before Wednesday of any week in my wagering history, lol! But keeping it real, I like the things you're doing homes. Keep up the good work man. Your efforts are very much appreciated by me and everybody on the thread.

If teams like the Lakers or Celtics just played 100% everynight to blow every team out they would run out of gas and have no chance in the playoffs. The coaches know this and if you think they tell their players to go out and give it everything you've got everyday then you are crazy. On top of that all teams play the elite teams even tougher because it is like the teams that won't make the playoffs championship.

Actually as unimaginable as CK's lean towards Sac is tomorrow, it's hard to ignore the stat he mentions about Charlotte not having ever won in Sactown in the last 3 seasons. It's kinda like Sac got em (Charlotte) in their pocket and as bad as they are in general, are they willing to relinquish that little bit of success that they seem to have with this one team anyway?
