    My picks for tonight

GSW -3.5 - Portland is just 1-6 ATS in Oakland and this series has seen GSW cash in 5 of 6 contests. Portland played last night so on a b2b and are just 5-9 ATS as a road underdog this season. Golden State has beaten Portland the last four times the two teams have played in Oakland.

Boston -1 1st qtr - Boston win 70% of the 1st qtrs played with a net points diff of +4.3. Dallas win 47% with a +0.6 net points diff. I like my chances with the Celts who should still be warm from their game against NOH last night.

Love Hockeytown's picks tonight and so have hit all of them + CK secret play of course.

Actually, Styles is going to the game with her cousin (and man she is fine) and the kids. i am going to sit this one out again and stay at the crib and smoke purple and chat on the phone with nightridah and BigMoney about college action for tomorrow. I really don't go to too many of the games. I prefer to go the A's games. The bikini tops are marvelous. I just sneak in my half pint and put on my sunglasses!

One play today...ND +4 or more by tip off. The only reason Louisville won by so much last game was ot and the full court press wore them down for ot. Your gonna give me 4 or more to an Irish team that already proved they can keep it close in louisville home court.. Please ND is gonna roll today and should win this one straight up. 90% on Louisville I love it trap city.
Wait till tip off and see if you can get it at 5 or 5.5

In their last 11 road games Toronto is 3-8. The Leafs are 3-9 in their last 12 games vs. Eastern Conference opponents. Toronto is 2-5 in their last 7 trips to Tampa.

    CK,

Any doubt that GSW won't score 110 as a team and 55 in the 1st half?

It's the biggest spread for the Bulls over the Heat since 2007 at home. The Bulls have alternated wins and losses their last 5 games, but beat the Pistons in their last game, while the Heat were getting blown out by Denver and losing Marion and Chalmers with minor injuries that may or may not keep them out of tonight's game. I would be more inclined to take the points and add a hook on and take the Heat+4.5 if I were playing this game. The Bulls wona big game in their last game and this is a spot fora big letdown against a heat team that will be trying to atone for their blowout loss in their last game.

    djpremiere36,

It's not whether the Warriors can score 110 points...it's whether the Blazers will allow them to score 110 points or 55 points for the 1st half. I mean the last three times they have played Portland at home they have scored 111, 111, 110 points. So a team total for 110 is very tight and leaves no room for error. Portland only surrenders 95.2 points per game. i think that the team total is too tight and because of that i would be more inclined to actually take the under for that team total given Portland's defensive statistics. All that it would take for them to hold the Warriors under that total is to have just one quarter where they hold the Warriors under 25 points and the team total is toast....

The Warriors average 1st half score in their games (last 10) is 49.9 and the Blazers is 49.8. So the 55 is a bit too high. I think you might want to shift your thoughts from thinking that this game will go over wagering with your heart and wager with your head and try thinking about the under. The over call for this game is too easy...The Blazers are not the Knicks

I've been there before. Not a nice place to be when you do great record wise and lose that monster wager. Everyone else is happy that tailed the picks that opted to play them all evenly. But the creator gets slighted when the handicapping yeilds a strong play that doesn't pan out. I hate it when that happens

CK ... Don't post much in here but love the thread and the core group of posters so I opt not to clog it with my crap. I do have a question for you and anyone else who wants to chime in. When is it good in buckets to hedge on a middle. Or another way to put it is how much does the line have to move until it's worth going for a middle and hitting both plays. Early line on GSW was +1 I believe and is moving pretty quick. Had I gotten it at plus 1, and if it goes to say -4, is that enough of a move to play Portland plus 4 and attempt a middle? Any input would be appreciated. Oh and I didn't get +1, picked it up earlier for -1 1/2. Thanks.

    ****Card Change***

    Boston-2 1st half
    Boston-1 1st quarter

All that I know is that this version of the Celtics hasn't lost to the Mavs. The problem is that KG takes Dirk out of his game. Dirk is the Mavs primary weapon. Game over. The line has gone down now to a line where all that Boston has to do is win the game. The first half spread is too low for a team of Boston's stature. You can never count on Boston being the minority on any night with the consensus. It just isn't going to happen. You just have to know when to play em. The truth is, Dallas is an inferior team to the Celtics. Gotta roll with a team that only gives up 92 points per game..I'll take the Champs with the small first half chalk. I take this wager thinking that Ray Allen is NOT playing. Eddie House will do nicely. Give me the usual.
    Love it man.

A few more stats that make the play look even more tasty.

Boston are 8-0 in 1st QTR's over their last 8 away games and that includes games against 1st QTR heavyweights like Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors. Dallas in their last 8 home games are 4-4 and that includes losses against 1st QTR lightweights like Chicago, Portland and New York.

Last Boston game, Boston hammered the Maverics 1st QTR and Half.

However, Dallas have won 10 of their last 11 games at home, although now one of their top guys is injured.

    Boston -1 1st QTR
, and +100 to win 1st Half with no line is definately worth a shot.

    jaymac,

whatever you are saying to the Machine Choice is taking him even further out of character. It's so sad to see this meltdown. It was never my intention to have all of this happen, but it has and it is hard to watch a boss fall so far from grace. I actually feel sorry for him going down in flames $300 at a time. Now he's going to explain why a pick lost the day after the fact. It would be more honorable to move on and deal with a new day. People on his thread are blaming me for his downfall and saying that the "CK Followers" are continuing to talk smack on his thread.

    jaymac,

do me a favor and stay the hell out of his thread. We've already lost johnnyP on our side and they lost a few from their side. We don't need to lose you as well. Uncle Willie the War Lord is most tired of the Cold War. Let his following do their thing and we'll do our thing over here.

I was one of the one's calling out Jaymac, in a different thread, but did so nonetheless. I did it respectfully as I always handle myself as I have no bones to pick with anyone really (unless I'm drinkin tequila then it's lights out and I can't be responsible for anything I say). My simple point was that if you don't like someone, stay out of their threads. No need for trashing someone who hasn't trashed you and brought on the challnge. Anyway, love the thread as stated in an earlier post. Give me a heads up on my "time to middle" question when you have a chance please.
