Default Leans for Sunday 1/25/09 and PC Play Alert

It's time for a good old fashioned PC Play to liven it up around here and today, we are riding a team that has run into some tough times recently, which is always a good time to take a team. Georgetown is not playing to their skill level this year and they are on a bad streak right now losing two straight games by a combined average of 13. They are going to play doormats Seton Hall at the Prudential Center as 8.5 point road favorites. Seton Hall had some success against the crop of Hoyas before this group. This group of Hoyas blasted Seton Hall out of the gym last year on the road, and I see no reason to not back the stronger more talented team that still has hopes of climbing back up the conference standings by taking care of an inferior opponent in Seton hall, that has covered in four straight stuffing the pockets of their followers. They won't be so lucky this time when they face the Hoyas stingy defense that allows only 38.8% field goal percentge and only 62.5 ppg against superior competition and a tough schedule. Seton Hall gives up an average of 44% field goals and also 75.2 ppg.

The cover streak ends here for Seton Hall. There is a serious gap in defensive talent in this game. And with Seton Halls' issues of their own on the defensive end, this one could get ugly very quickly in the 2nd half.

PC Pick Georgetown-7.5 HEAVY (Buying a point to get under the key number)

Rhode Island is coming off of another tough but close loss. The last time that they came off a close tough loss to Xavier, they responded by blowing out Fordham by 31 easily covering the line of -21. The Colonials have also cvered the number in three straight games, but despite the great ats record against the Rams of 9-1, it's awfully hard to keep covering the number. the spread for this game is entirely too low for the type of talent that Rhode Island is putting on the floor THIS year. They will keep the pedal to the metal and beat the Colonials by double digits after they had a tough loss to Dayton in their last game. Blowout City, bay-bee!

    Rhode Island-4.5

The Bulls have lost more than 3 in a row straight up. The T-Wolves are coming off of a signatue win against a wounded but quality team. The T-Wolves already beat the Bulls this year by double digits. It's the first game of an out of conference road trip. You already can see where I'm going with this. The T-Wolves will get caught with their pants down and still drunk off of their "big" win. Bulls pummel the T-Wolves. Ben Gordon was fined for being late to the plane trip. Any points given to the Bulls is too many. I am going against the green star on this one and getting real gangster about it.

    Bulls+6.5 with a point buy

I am also taking Georgetown-4 1st half as well

    4 point college basketball teaser

    Vanderbilt +5
    UCF-3
    Ohio State+7

Those are my 4, you guys fill in the blanks now. The board is yours...

Looking ahead to tomorrow, Charlotte continues to be on a tear covering 6 straight and winning 5 of their last 6. Charlotte has played Indiana well recently going 7-1ats last 8 in Indiana and 12-3ats last 15 against inidiana. The underdog is also 11-4ats in this series. Charlotte has won SU 3 of the last 4 in Indiana.
    Charlotte +3/ML

SAn Antonio squeaked out a big win against the Lakers last time out. San anotnio is 1-4ats last 5 in LA and 2-5ats last 7 in LA. This may not be a good spot for San Antonio having not been playing well recently and just squeaking out some wins. They are going up against a Lakers team that is starting to find their groove again and definatly wanting revenge from their last match were SA won at the end.
Early lean on LA Lakers -6.5

    Georgetown -7.5 (PC BABY!!!!!!!)

Good start today with a win. Hope to continue this good start. Now for tomorrow's pick:

    line: sk+9@tr
    pick: tr-9

The Kings lost a heartbreaker today to the Bucks, and must now travel to Canada to face a healthy Raptors team. The Kings are 0-6 ATS against Atlantic Division teams this year. I believe that the success of a team relies heavily on a good floor general and Calderon is exceptional at his position. The healthy Raptors will start a winning streak of their own. Look for them to pummel the Kings tomorrow.

    BOSTON VS DALLAS
    by( NIghtridah)

HERE YE HERE YE......STEP RIGHT UP FOLKS......READ ALL ABOUT IT....

THE DALLAS MAVS ARE ON A HIGH RIGHT NOW AFTER OPENING UP A CAN OF THAT WHOOP ASS ON A GOOD DETROIT TEAM ...U THINK THEY GOT THEIR SWAGGER BACK?.....KEEP THINKING...FACT OF THE MATTER IS DALLAS HAS ALWAYS SUFFERED MORE BECUZ OF INCONSISTENCY THAN ANYTHING ELSE....WITH THAT BEING SAID THE MAVS ARE WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE....NOW THEY COME INTO THE BOSTON GARDEN ON A SUNDAY WHERE THIS GAME WILL BE THE ONLY TELEVISED NBA GAME ON...I SMELL PUSSY....

BOSTON IS ON A SERIOUS ROLL RIGHT NOW ...THAT MEANS DALLAS IS ABOUT TO CATCH HELL AGAINST KG'S TEAM IN HIS OWN BACK YARD....PICTURE DIRK AGAINST A CRAZY ASS KG....SINCE KG'S ARRIVAL BOSTON'S "D" HAS PUT THE CLAMPS ON DALLAS ON BOTH COURTS...THIS WILL DEFINITELY BE AN UGLY DOG FIGHT.....THE ODDSMAKERS AINT LEAVING MUCH BREATHING ROOM AS THEY IN MY OPINION HAVE RAISED THE BAR FOR CELTIC BACKERS TO -9.5.....U GOTTA PAY 2 PLAY RIGHT? JUST A LIL RICH FOR MY TASTE....HOWEVER THERE IS SERIOUS VALUE IN THE TOTALS PLAY.....

    WHY UNDER IS THE PLAY
1-DIRK VS KG = A HARD DAY AT THE OFFICE FOR DIRK THE TWIRK
2-SINCE KG'S ARRIVAL BOSTON HAS HELD DALLASTO JUST 42% IN FG
3-UNDER IS 5-0 IN DALLAS LST 5 GAMES AFTER SCORING OVER 100 IN THE PREVIOUS GAME
4-UNDER IS 11-1-1 IN BOSTONS LAST 13 GAMES VS WESTERN CONFERENCE
5-DALLAS ONLY WAY TO WIN AGAINST A STEAMING HOT BOSTON TEAM WHO IS 21-2 AT HOME WOULD BE TO OUTSCORE THEM WHICH WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAINST A #2 RANKED DEFENSE WHO IS OUT FOR BLOOD

MORNING PLAY OF THE DAY........UNDER 193 IN A BOSTON BRAWL ......

nightridah, you're gonna have to update your avatar.

The Bulls are notorious for having slow starts. Seriously thinking of taking Minnesota 1st half, and then Chicago 2nd half. I think that the T-Wolves jump out to the early leasd and then the Bulls come back to cover just when we count em out. They have an awful lot of players that can create their own shot off the dribble, but they have an awful inexperienced head coach in Vinny Del Nego. Based upon talent alone, there is no way the Bulls don't get he 2nd half cover. But then again, these are the Bulls. But they are in an excellent spot to get the cover in this one.

my pick is charlotte.. indiana plays at orlando next and then comes back home to play division rival milwaukee.. theres noooo way they are going to want to cover the game on their home court before a division game... other factors:the linemaker shouldnt have the game at ind-3.. it should be at least 5 or 6 especially since indiana is coming off beating houston.. charlotte is a really good team (for charlotte) this year and they will win the game outright probably...

Tomorrow is Australia Day guys, and a public holiday for all of us, so what better day to make some cash.
I think my plays tomorrow will be:
Georgetown (PC play, can't pass this baby up)
Boston 1st Quarter and possibly even halftime and game.
And I do like the Raps!
Bit of an omen bet with Boston, as tomorrow i'm off to see one of my favourite bands in concert, the Dropkick Murphys, who are notorious Boston fans

Crack a beer, win some cash and celebrate Australia day in style guys, no matter what part of the world ya hail from

    I have a quick question...
Nothing hurts more than losing a bet by a 1/2 point to me...
I like to keep the number even when i can buy the 1/2 point..
Am I just giving my book extra cash? Thanks...God Bless...Dogg

My Aus book hasn't got the Georgetown game up and my US book hasn't got any NCAA lines or NBA 1st quarters up yet. This is really frustrating becauses its midnight and the Boston game starts at 5am my time so I need to get em on now

    Good morning all,

Yesterday a fellow member of this thread send me a PM asking if I could post all my TOTAL picks based upon the line movement of my book (yesterday I went big on the OVER 193 at Miami after the line jumped two points) Track record last 4 days 8-1-0 and last 8 days is an amazing 16-4! (post #133 yesterday).

So i'll comeback later if any movement is a play!

I dont think you are giving it away Dogg. I really dont. There and magical, key numbers in sports, those being 3,6,7,10 and 14 in football. Basketball is a bit more tricky. I havent figured this one out entirely myself yet. Generally, I buy the hook on any number less than 6 to be on the better side for my benefit. For me, it has already paid nice dividends. Of course I lose some and the purchased hook stings when I do lose, but it goes down a lot easier when usually two - three times per week the purchased hook earns me a push or the outright win.
