I'm new to the forum, so hello all! Anyways, my friend bets on sports religiously and well lets just say he doesn't click the withdrawal button often. I always give him a hard time for this. So he decides to bet me that I couldn't do any better. The bet is that I have to turn $20 into 500 by the end of the NBA/NCAA basketball season. If I pull it off he will match the 500 with an additional 500 of his own money. If I lose, which is more realistic, I can't make comments during the games he bets on. This is all in fun, but I'd also like to turn $20 into 1k.

So far I'm 5-1.

Orlando +4.5 over L.A. Lakers - W
Syracuse -4 over Notre Dame - W
Illinois +8 over Michigan St. - W
Philly -2.5 over New York - W
Phoenix +8.5 over Boston - L

Tonight I placed my biggest bet of a whopping 37 on Cleveland -1 over Portland.

I know you guys laugh at the bets(amountwise), but it's meant to be fun. I just want to share my current record and keep track of it on here. I've been on the forum for a few days browsing peoples selections/suggestions and combining them with my own information. I'm told you aren't supposed to bet with your heart, but the cleveland line just seems ridiculously nice. Once again, hello all.

Btw, does anyone do sweetheart teasers? +10.5 on 4 NBA/NCAA games seems easier to hit than going 3-1 on ATS bets. I tried the 13.5 on both football games and it came through. Just curious.

I'm not an expert on teasers But no worries the boys will correct me fast if I"M wrong. Yes I would say that they are a whole lot easier but the problem is they pay so little. for example say you won 3 strait teasers then you lost Just 1 I would think betting the same amounts of course you would be pretty much even

My personal opinion is that a basketball teaser is not a good bet. I found that the the parts of the teasers that won I would have won outright. Of course I am talking about a normal 4 point teaser here.

If you want to win over the long haul you should place straight wagers and use good money management. I use the Kelly Criterion to place bets based between 55% to 60% win ratio depending on how strong I feel the wager is. The 55% is for normal -110 bets. If you are betting Moneylines you may want to raise the expected win ratio. I also only bet Half Kelly. I am more conservative with my wagering. Some do Full Kelly wagers.

Good luck bro. I was all the way down to $20 in a small account I made 3 weeks ago, and after a bit of luck it's up to $6,000 right now and I use it often alongside my main account. As Garnett would say, anything is posssssiibbbbllllleee haha

Nah bro, I started off with 200 just to see if I would like the book. I fell down to $4, and the minimum bet was $10. I had to play blackjack to get it to $20. I parlayed the $20 on 3 -1.5 Hockey lines and hit around $350 on that play. I had to get a last second empty net goal to hit the parlay. After that, I played like $50 a bet and went up to around 1000 after a while and eventually got to $6000 today playing Boston and Cleveland in both my accounts big.

Basically, I got insanely lucky to even have any money left in my account. IMO it will always take at least one ridiculously lucky play to build a small roll, especially if you have no patience.

Crazy how that first post eludes so many. $100 into 500 doesn't worthy an additional 500 from someone. $20 does with it being a friendly bet.
