1. im taking the spurs -2 to get even with the lakers, after watching them barely beat the undermanned houston rockets, i'm taking the spurs for that paper. lakers

2. Utah -5 over the thunder, the thunders are good at covering but utah gets the double digit win here.

Here's why I like the Spurs tonight.

1) The Laker starters are logging heavy minutes lately and it will catch up to them sometime. Fisher and Kobe cannot continue to play 40+ minutes every single night. They'll be worn down by the end of the month if that happens. Their bench is not as deep as it once was because Farmar, Walton, Vujacic, and Odom are all dealing with some sort of injury. Farmar and Walton are definitely out today while Vujacic is doubtful. Odom did play yesterday but his knee is not 100%. According to the man himself, there is still lingering pain in the knee.

2) Bynum tends to disappear in big games. He's still a little kid and he acts like it sometimes. I watch just about every Laker game and you will always see him flail his arms in the air if he disagrees with a call. I think Duncan will have his way with either Bynum or Gasol tonight. On the defensive end, I think Gasol will be limited if they stick Kurt Thomas on him. If you play physical with Gasol, he can be negated as well. I'm sure Pops has this figured out already. Have Duncan play Bynum so he doesn't have to waste as much energy on the defensive end and tell Thomas to be physical with Gasol down low.

3) Bruce Bowen. I understand you can't stop Kobe but you can at least try to contain him. If there is any defender that gives Kobe fits, one of them would be Bruce Bowen. I'm sure Pops will make some adjustments and start Bowen tonight because I don't see Roger Mason guarding Kobe. If Bowen gets into foul trouble, the Spurs have Ime Udoka to replace him. Udoka is a good, physical guy that can give Kobe fits too. Either way, Kobe will have his hands full tonight, although I'm sure he's more than up to the task.

4) Pick and roll. Pick and roll. The Lakers will get a heavy dose of that tonight because that's what the Spurs do and guess what? The Lakers have A LOT of trouble defending it. Imagine Parker or Ginobili running off Duncan screens all night. That spells trouble for LA on the defensive end. Take into account that they can also pick and pop with Bonner, Thomas, and Duncan and you will have the Lakers scrambling around like it's a fire drill.

I like the Pitt ML(toss up game) and Det over picks. But not sure about Atlanta. Ottawa has been bad, but they woke up yesterday. So might carry over today.
