Let's get the second half. I have ML as well. I hope they can hold on. I like the 5.5 right now tho.

It is incredible how the Heat conssisstently throw away final possessions of quarters. This is one of the few areas that a coach has some X and O influence. The players play their part, but over a large sample size Spoelstra is woeful in this area.

    Agreed that Spoelstra is terrible.

Great observation Red....they have the absolute worst 15 second end of the quarter completion rate among top teams. They look their worst on set plays.

Also Spoelstra waits way too long to stop opponent momentum. I guess it is a sign of trust or something that the team can handle it. I consider SA coach Popovich one of the best playoff coach and he is not afraid to slam the breaks on quick especially on the road. They stop momentum.

Heat went from 5 up to 5 down without a timeout (I think).

Damn, I thought we had that game. Unreal second half by OKC. The Heat played well enough to win.

So let me get this straight.....Bosh hits a career high three 3 pointers in the game 7 victory and now he thinks he's a 3 point shooter?
The Heat will get run out of this series if he keeps jacking 3's. On a side note, Screamin A Smith predicted a 105-94 Thunder win on the pregame and we sit at 105 -94 with 12.4 left on the clock.

The Heat played well, BUT I don't see them getting 17 points a game from Battier consistently and I certainly don't think Harden plays this poorly the rest of the series.

  8. #11873

I had Heat +11.5 in a teaser lol what an escape. We could see Thunder in 5 if Durant keeps it up.

. Not to mention it was only game one and the Heat looked taxed in the 4th Qtr. OKC bodies flying everywhere on the offensive glass, Westbrook and Durant galavanting up and down the court and getting to the tin with ease. Meanwhile the heat looked like they were playing backon their heels and settling for contested jumpers for the most part.

The Thunder are very tough at home in this year's play-offs (undefeated)... They stomped all over the Lakers in their series opener at home, too! This Thunder win will certainly mess with everyone's minds for next couple of games... in terms of capping games... this maybe the prime time in The Finals to wager on the Heat in terms of getting value... what are your thoughts? The Heat are going to come back in Game 2 and cover the spread, maybe win Game 2 out right! Then back to South Beach for Games 3, 4, and 5... It's The Finals... 2-3-2 in games as opposed to 2-2-1-1-1... Big advantage to Miami to have 3 straight home games... If they can win game 2 in OKC it's going to be a 6 or 7 game series...

I just checked the lines for thursday's basketball game.... OKC minus 4.5 points??? Same line as last game... I expected a different opening line for game 2..... where's the expected jump in value on Miami??? The BOOKS are NOT being influenced by last game's outcome....???? This decision by the books has got me thinking.... I thought the opening line would be a point higher.... It just goes to show me how little I really know.... lmao.... ... about capping lines... The only change in value is on the totals... up from 192 in game 1 to 195 points in game 2...

OKC is just superior athletically. Hard to believe that when 2 of the best players in the world are on the same team. If Lebron wants a title this year he's going to have to man up and show the world that he is a top tier defender and start guarding Durant for the whole game. OKC is doing a good job on the offensive end with screens up top and Miami is auto switching. That's gotta stop and Lebron is going to have to fight through screens and welcome the challenge of guarding KD.

This has worked out well for me so far in the playoffs when I can't pick a side. There have been a lot of back and forth games with large runs and very few blowouts. It coincides with my theory that when teams have a large lead the refs subconsciously call games against them. Not a single stat to back up anything I just said
This is a very very lucrative strategy that I have used for a couple seasons. The books have caught on and, subsequently,
in game mls have dropped significantly. Please refrain from sharing this strategy before the rest of the value is squashed by the books.

did you watch the game? lebron blanketed durrant the entire 2nd and 3rd quarters.. durrant went the first 9 minutes of the 2nd without even taking a shot and only took 1 the whole quarter.. then in the third quarter, durrant hit a 3 out of the gates, but then went the next 11 minutes only getting up 2 shot attempts making neither one. . Personally, I consider that lebron manning up. Unfortunately, wade can't say the same and got torched by westy for 12 points in the third, enough so to the point that lebron had to switch over to wesbrook in the 4th. Of course we all saw what happened after that switch was made-- durance went off now that lebron was not on him.

Anyway, lebron can't do it all himself.. someone else needs to man up and play some defense on either durrant or westy. But you to call out lebron bc of his defense is crazy... He held the best scorer in basket ball to 5 total shots attempts in 2 full quarters-- that is unreal.

You know why the best scorer in basketball got 5 shot attempts in 2 quarters? Because he plays with a shoot first pg that actually believes it's his team and not Durants. You know how many times I have seen Westbrook bring the ball up and shoot without a single pass? When you have 8-10 possessions of basketball when the best scorer in the league doesn't even get a touch, that's just low basketball IQ. Westbrrok is a freak of an athlete, but he's immature and should know that this is KD's team. Wade is injured..... He can't guard Westbrook. If I'm the Heat, Lebron plays Durant every minute he's on the floor. OKC won't win if Westbrook scores 30 and Lebron "holds" KD to 5 shots in 2 quarters or 10 shots for 4 quarters for that matter. And just so this is clear, I am not blaming Lebron for the loss, but if you want to be "the chosen one," and if you want to win not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4 rings, then you take this defensive challenge. Lord knows MJ would have.

I think that the Heat played well enough to win. OKC played a very dominant 2nd half. The Heat will give it all to win this second game on the road. If they do, they can win.

That means you believe Miami wins Game 2 at which point it would be a good bet since you can hedge later on.

Personally I'm still of the belief that OKC gets it done at home Game 2 and I'll contemplate getting Miami before game 3 at better odds ....

Thanks Red... I can get Heat Series @ +235 from my local... the issue was that before series began I placed a series wager on the Thunder @ -160 .... I jumped on that wager with a small 1 unit series play on Thunder...then, as the series got closer I started to realize that the HEAT had more value in the series than I first anticipated... I do not want to tie up to much capital on the series and not have the ability to wager on games.... So now I'm not sure if I should hedge and then, if I do, how much should I hedge on HEAT? I'm now in a wait and see mode.... up till game time decision... good luck to you and everyone else.

Big advantage Maimi 2-3-2 down 1-0 ? To benefit from that, Maimi has to win tonight and win at least 2 of 3 at home. OKC is crearly the better team . Don't believe me, ask the Mavs Lakers and Spurs

That's why they play the games.... Who is Maimi??? Hey are you hating??? Miami having 3 straight home games in the finals provided they win game 2 is an advantage... since the other series were 2-2-1-1-1 in format... Please do not twist my words to create a wedge....Thanks and good luck.

LTA posted this in his MLB thread:

Guys, I need to take an indefinite leave of absence from sbr and capping for awhile. Our son is sick all of a sudden which is freaking us out and some work projects have really intensified, both of which will require my immediate and full attention. Good luck to all. If someone could quote this in my NBA thread to let everyone know I would appreciate it. Good luck to all and I hope to be back as soon as possible.
