alright boys, believe it or not were are already making a 2nd trip to DAYTONA for the annual 4th of july weekend saturday night race...we have the nationwide series also with a race on friday night from daytona...every1 knows these are just as much luck as anything else, but i personally pick from the same group every year at daytona ..hitting a lucky 6 of last 7 plate races, and both so far this season ...switch a few in/out but usually pick from same pool of guys, slightly different than talladega though

Daytona is a 2.5 mile tri-oval super-speedway..its has 31 degree banking in the turns, 3 degrees in the straights, and 18 degrees in the tri-oval...the frontstretch is 3800 feet with the backstretch being 3000 feet

as always all the regulars opinion/thoughts are always welcome in this thread....just been absolutley killing it and hope it keeps up!!!

ive already started watching last 4 races from daytona, along with flipping through my personal notebooks from the track/ and each driver...

all my early picks will be mostly determined by odds of the drivers that i have on my list

no need to over rush all picks asap as should be 9-1 or worse as a favorite when openers are released

having every driver at 9 to10-1 and longer odds is the 1 great think about plate tracks, we dont have to be very choosy in a roster...usually always bigger than usual and will still payout huge

Hey Mike! Congrats on Bad Brad win!!

I watched last year's Coke Zero 400. Lots of tandem bump drafting going on. There seemed to be a number of drivers hanging back about 6 seconds in the "bee hive" mob separated away from the lead pack. Teams, notably Hendricks, were content to log laps, biding their time until late in the race to make their track and field distance runner style "kick" near the end. There is typically a late caution with somewhere between 3 to 5 laps to go.

How do you see this year's race unfolding?

well last years wont resemble this race at all

after the package changes they made, tandem drafting wont dominate imo, be pack racing mostly, until last few laps

teams that sandbag dont bother me really, last 10 laps is all that really matters, u can go from dead last to leading the race in 2 laps

all about luck and timing
