I think Ortiz takes him out in the second round.

Here is the rules on duration of fights:

Quote:
Bout duration:
All non-championship bouts shall be three rounds.
All championship bouts shall be five rounds.
Rounds will be five minutes in duration.
A one-minute rest period will occur between each round.
So the question is..Is it a championship fight?

I dont think it is.

I think Ortiz will take him on a KO! I'm not sure if Griffin is ready to face Ortiz, he will be having a hard time. Ortiz will give him hard punches. haha

What a fight. I didn't think Griffen could hang in there, but he almost won. That last takedown in the third sealed it for Ortiz. One judge had Ortiz winning all three rounds when Griffen clearly won the second round. I hope there's a rematch between these two.

I thought Griffin was during more effective work on that last takedown. I had it 29-28 for FG. Two of the judges only had him at 27 He clearly won the 2nd like you say.

The biggest fight for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s latest show UFC 59: Reality Check also produced the biggest upset inside the Octagon in some time. Tim ‘The Maine-iac’ Sylvia (21-2) regained the heavyweight title by knocking out Andrei ‘The Pitbull’ Arlovski (9-4) at 2:43 of the first round.

Sylvia cashed tickets as a decided $2.50 underdog (bet $100 to win $250), and avenged his loss to Arlovski in UFC 51: Super Saturday. Arlovski actually landed the first quality shot of the fight with a huge right hand that almost ended the fight.

However, Sylvia recovered quickly and landed a short right of his own on Arlovski’s chin. ‘The Maine-iac’ jumped on the downed fighter and finished the contest with a couple shots to the side of his opponents head.

There wasn’t as quite a dramatic finish in the Tito Ortiz-Forrest Griffin fight, with the heavily favored Ortiz recording a closely contested split decision victory. The three judges scored the fight 30-27 and 29-27 for Ortiz, and 29-28 for Griffin. Ortiz improved to 13-4 with the victory, while Griffin dropped to 12-3.

‘The Huntington Beach Bad Boy’ entered the Octagon as a $3.00 favorite (bet $300 to win $100), and barely outdistanced the game Griffin. This fight was almost stopped in the first round when Ortiz took Griffin down and started unloading his patented ground and pound offense.

Griffin actually rebounded to win the second round by keeping the fight standing while connecting on a couple of nice shots. Ortiz barely won the third round with a couple of quality combinations, but he was unable to takedown Griffin until late in the fight.
