Molinari is an interesting match-up choice. He gave up playing in his home country tournament this week (BMW Italian Open) to play in the Players while his brother Eduardo Molinari stayed in Italy to represent the dynamic brothers duo. In other words, Francesco better do damn well at the Player's for missing his country's open tournament!

I watched his interview post round yesterday,he is very confident right now as well as Ben Crane

I like to play the guys who are feeling good, they usually will handle the negatives a little better than someone who is struggling with their game, mental or physical

he won the italy open 4 years ago I think and he was talking about how the players takes your game to another level

if I had to criticize anything about his game it would be that he tries to get too cute with a lot of shots,

trying to hook a 9 iron is just silly IMO,

either hit it at the pin or aim for the middle

I also think it must be hard to be consistent with his iron distance since he hits them so far

I'm not goofy enough to think it can't happen but it's much more likely the guy searching for his game struggles than the guy who is missing a shot here and there

I got 10 points on phil if you want some action

Got a bunch of guys at the top of the leaderboard who have trouble closing out tourny's Westwood (in the U.S. anyway), Allenby hasn't won forever, same with Tim Clark, Slocum gave away 4 stokes late yesterday after holding the lead....man tough call today. Can Moli pull it off? As good a chance as he'll have in the U.S. Phil's at around 15-1 pretty short price for 5 shots back. Should be an interesting choke-fest today.

    I can't back molinari today

I don't think he has enough experience on this course

I like westwood to handle his business today

as art points out there isn't anyone at the top that really knows how to take advantage of the situation

and IMO this gives westwood a mental edge to think he is the most prepared player for the situation at hand

maybe one of the funnest things in golf is to hit a shot out of the trees on to the green

it gives a person a huge adrenaline rush

this is what westwood left the course feeling last night

So there you have it, of the 3 perennial top 10 finishers who can't seem to win in the U.S. Allenby Westwood and Clark, the most snake-bitten is....Robert Allenby! Congratulations to him. The birdie putt he had on 17 to tie for the lead was about as unlucky as I have ever seen. It needed one more roll to get into the cup, it had enough momentum, hit some blade of grass and rolled sideways and then back a bit. No wonder this guy can't win, talent + no luck= no wins. But congrats to Clark for finally puting his demons to rest by making that clutch par putt on 18, a good victory for the smaller golfers of the world.

    good stuff art.thanks for sharing

    I stopped watching after 16

after reading your thoughts I wish I woulda stayed tuned

    westwood made some great putts

it's to bad he couldn't find his balance in his swing

    I was rooting for him,

not a good idea as a bettor but sometimes I can't help myself

its pretty much the norm for aussie players, they get up near the top of the leaderboard after the third rd and then either fall away in last rd or just miss out. in defense to allenby he has been one of the most consistent players on tour this year. adam scott, ogilvy, baddely, day, pampling, green, appleby and others r in poor form atm.
