I have found tennis betting to be pretty profitable (hope I don't jinx myself). The majors seem to be the best for betting. There are so many matches to choose from. Australian Open (first major of the year) starts tonight Jan. 17 at 7:00 PM Eastern. There is something like 64 matches in just the 1st round alone. I hope we all cash big!!! Good Luck!!!

I'm not really good at picking underdogs in tennis all that much. I did pick Vania King yesterday but also picked Melanie Oudin. From what I understand they are saying that Blake might take out Del Potro. Apparently Del Potro has an arm problem. A bunch of people are saying that Blake very may well take out Del Potro. I don't agree as I think Del Potro is way better than Blake even with an arm injury. The money line is low here. I have it parlayed with some others. Good Luck.

No matter if it's mens or womens the upsets are gonna happen. I lost 2 matches so far which were Sharapova and Robredo. She cost me 2 parlays and Robredo cost me 1. The Robredo was a real small inexpensive parlay. 1 Sharapova was real small and a fairly big one. Since the Sharapova losses I have doubled my bank roll. I have been on a roll so far as I have now hit 7 straight parlays including some 14 teamers. They don't pay out huge since so many of them are huge favorites. After tonight I might have to be more careful.

Cilic pulled out a 5 setter. That match got so scary it wasn't even funny. We have Nadal now tonight. He's looking rough so far.

Nadal retired in the 3rd set. Oh well, he was getting his ass beat. Murray was on fire. Can't wait to see him play Cilic. It shouldn't be a problem for Murray.

good call on the cilic game. roddick was never going to win this tournament. he's been angry and obnoxious... and lacked focus. the sun has set on his glory days, no doubt.

i see that the williams gals are up today in the quarter-finals. can't see them being beaten. any thoughts about taking the straight sets options for either or both?

venus should've won her match - but didn't.
serena should've lost her match - but didn't.

before i head out for the night, i'd like to briefly share some personal pearls of wisdom. i have three basic principles for life and sports gambling in general.

1. discipline over greed.
2. never go home with a woman who has an adams apple.
3. never ever ever ever ever ever ever bet on a tennis match in which nikolay davydenko is playing.

today, i broke two of those rules (no, not number 2, smart guys)

fortunately, there was a happy ending... but the lesson has been reinforced!

Tsonga is getting pounded by Federer right now. Not a surprise. Before this match the line was Federer to win the tournament -110. The field was also -110. So when it's officially Federer/Murray in the final I expect it to about be the same odds.
