Default Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai

Red Group:

1. Roger Federer
2. Ivan Ljubicic
3. Andy Roddick
4. David Nalbandian

Gold Group:

1. Rafael Nadal
2. Nikolay Davydenko
3. Tommy Robredo
4. James Blake

Just by looking at the head to head records for everyone in their group. Federer & Roddick are the clear favorites to come out of the Red Group and Blake & Nadal are the clear favorites to come out of the Gold Group. So it looks like Federer & Blake in the Final.

WTF. This started last night? Damn, I thought it started tonight. ARGHHHH. Federer and Roddick both won in 3 sets. I could see Federer going 3-0 in his group and the other 3 going 1-2.

Roddick only beating Ljubicic
Nalbandian only beating Roddick
Ljubicic only beating Nalbandian

But hoping David can play like he did in the first set against Roger and win both his remaining matches.

Tonight will be Blake/Nadal and Davydenko/Robredo. (6am EST start time on ESPN2). Unless they slowed this court down a good percentage, I like Blake to win. The players complained last year that they felt like they were playing on ice, so who knows? You know the ATP wants Federer/Nadal, so wouldn't surprise me to see this all of a sudden playing like a clay court

Both Blake and Davydenko won earlier this morning as expected. I like Federer over Roddick and Ljubicic over Nalbandian tomorrow.

1. Federer over Roddick 2-0 -247
2. Ljubicic d. Nalbandian +132
3. Ljubucic wins 2-0 +300

I think Ljubicic might be nursing an injury. I expect both chalks to prevail tonight.

Federer wins in 3 sets after saving 3 match points. Ljubicic & Nalbandian in the 3rd set...both these guys really need the win if they are to have any chance of getting to the semis.

Roddick and Nalbandian with equal chokes today. Roddick with match point on his serve in the tiebreak and Nalbandian serving out the match in the 2nd, two points away.

Davydenko was up a set and a break in the 2nd set...lost 7-5 in the third. I'm not surprised Davydenko got close but he had a 0-4 record against Blake coming into this match. Blake remains perfect against both Nadal and Davydenko.
