I'm looking at Benny the Bull in this spot. He finished second to Midnight Lute last out but that was at 7 furlongs. Midnight Lute has a tough post and I don't think his running style works in this race, especially as the likely favorite when Gomez will have to gun from the inside. He had a dream trip in the Forego from the outside. Benny made a nice run in deep stretch to be a clear second.
Dutrow's main jockey, Prado, is injured, so he sticks with Guidry, which should boost the price.

I'm going with win bets on Attila's Storm and Kelly's Landing, not betting any favorites except in the Classic.

Smokey Stover is a freak.. If he runs his race he will win.
Trainer said the horse is doing good on the radio the other day.

I just don't think he's faced many top horses. Plus, the inside draw will hurt him.

I saw Benny the Bull run at Prairie Meadows this year. He is a closer. Pretty much dead last going into the turn and started passing them all like they were standing still. Of course, much better competition this Saturday, but I like for exactas and trifectas especially if Bordonaro and Smokey Stover set a fast pace.

Dutrow won this race with Silver Train, so he knows how to set them up. I also like the fact it's only a 10-horse field here, so less traffic than the 14-horse fields we're used to in this race.
Atiilia's Storm has been scratched.

I'm also taking a strong lean to #8 Benny The Bull 6-1 ML ... One of the few in here that doesn't need to be on or near the pace ... This horse will definitely need everything to collapse in front of him ... Off track I'll be looking elsewhere, possibly #6 Commentator 12-1 ML, 3 for 3 on the off going.

I'm on #6 Commentator ... Monmouth will be a quagmire tomorrow ... Good luck to those on Benny ... There are a few in here with good off track history.

Idiot Proof might sit a good trip from the seven post and is my choice here. 1,2,6 in the tri partial wheel.
