Default Bluegrass Cat's racing days over

Colt showed some guts running hard to the wire. I was surprised her was able to run 2nd after chasing Bernadini for a mile and a quarter.

Bluegrass Cat sustained a non-displaced fracture of the right hind pastern while running second to Bernardini in the Travers on Saturday. The injury is career ending but not life threatening.

He likely would have been a big player next year as a 4-year-old. Amazing he suffered that type of injury during the race and still finished second.
