Default UK Horse Racing

Hello,

I like these races...Only three tracks to play for, Lingfield, Southwell, and Wolverhampton are the three tracks available for betting in the USA.

I'll post my top 3's of each race here with some form of commentary behind them...

Not a good start...CHANROSSA finished best with a 2ND placed effort...ZERZUA in 5TH and SET EM UP MO finished 7TH.

Did you watch the National Hunt races by any chance?

They are long of course, minimum trip is 2m and can go up to 4m over hurdles and fences...National Hunt Flat races go about 1m6f to about as far 2m1f.

I'm only covering the All-Weather races..three tracks are available for betting in the USA - LINGFIELD, SOUTHWELL, and WOLVERHAMPTON, with KEMPTON the other track but not available for betting.

RACE 3

CUTHBERT
Jockey J Fanning booked and he's ridden 6 of the trainers 11 wins this year.
First time he's on board this horse who's already raced 8x, should improve.

LA TOYA J
Darley bred by NOVERRE with damsire MR PROSPECTOR, 7TH on debut 3RD last time.
The NOVERRE/MR PROSPECTOR cross have two other runners that already won.
They are MUSIC SHOW who won 3 of 4 starts and NORFLOK BROADS won 1 of 7.
A good run is likely to chase home the winner but not enough to win.

SPICE FAIR
Very promising debut at the course over 1m when 2ND to 1-3 fav HIDDEN GLORY.
She was ahead of THUNDERING HOME by 1/2L who won his next outing two days ago.

RACE 3

KATHINDI
Raced here in 3 of 4 career starts with lto for 3RD of 9 in a 1m handicap.
1ST, 4TH, 5TH and 7TH had won since so the 30 days old form is very solid.

UNTIL THE MAN
Placed 2ND and 3RD in last two starts, both over 1m, drop in trip suits.
With Cheek pieces on he has finished 5TH, 2ND, 3RD and it is on for today.
Winning with this is unlikely but place claims are high.

CALCULUS AFFAIR
Slow starter on debut but finished very well to snatch 4TH.
Winner LICENSE TO TILL who was well bred made all the running that day.
Trainer J Noseda has 2 1ST and 1 3RD from his 6 with the rest in 4TH.

no probs .. not sure if its just until racing here in the US picks up again or not ... but this past couple of weeks almost every UK and Irish meeting has been available for wagering (not all were covered on live streaming)

Top 3 - Southwell - Race 1

MEHENDI
No problem with the trip, 3RD and 5TH in two starts at 12f in Sep and Oct.
Both races in an Apprentice handicap and was beaten favorite in each race.
This return to a Class 6 Maiden (apprentice) should make life easier for him.
Jockey booked have 2 wins and 4 more placed from his last 11 rides.

LOOK OFFICER
Yard debut went well when 3RD of 8 at Lingfield 23 days ago.
She was an expensive purchase having cost $60,000, resold 100,000euros.

DOVEDON ANGEL
Done well enough in her last two to get into place money here.
3RD in penultimate run and 2ND at Kempton last time out.
All-Weather debut was three runs ago for 4TH so she's really looked good.

Top 3
Saturday January 2

SOUTHWELL - Race 4

OKE BAY
Trainer R M Beckett does well here, 6 wins from 25 the last 5 seasons.
His runner was 13TH of 14 lto but that was from 7 months off.
His July effort of 2ND of 7 at the C&D looks very good to do well here.

ALL GUNS FIRING
Not a bad effort on his All-Weather debut when 4TH of 8 here, also yard debut.
More can be expected from this one having been a £120,000 yearling.
Career best when 3RD to MONITOR CLOSELY in October of 2008 by 2 1/2L.

AVEN MAC

Jockey booked C Catlin had won this event the last two seasons.
He rode a NH horse to win this in 2008, AVEN MAC ran over hurdle lto.

LINGFIELD - Race 2

ANT MUSIC
Unable to last the 1m 141y trip at Wolverhampton lto but drop back to 7 suits.
His Thirsk 4TH has worked out well with the 3 in front able to win since.
That was three runs ago and it was his last try in a maiden race.
Handicap lto, Class 2 Nursery penultimate run, rivals definitely weaker here.

ABHAR
Liked it here more lto than when raced at Kempton on debut.
He was slow away but finished well to get into 6TH of 12 runners over 6f.
There was money for him that day opening around 14-1 and touched 8-1.
With jockey Robert Winston in the saddle this time, expect to improve.

OCEANS EDGE
Debutant that cost 46,000gns and half-brother to high-Class STRIKING AMBITION.
Trainer J R Boyle did well last month winning 6 of their 28 runs.
He also has this track for most wins last year with 19 wins (from 92, 21%).

SOUTHWELL
Poor effort here with just ALL GUNS FIRING being placed 2ND ($3.00 place)

Monday January 4 2010
Wolverhampton - RACE 3

HIGH CONSTABLE
Well backed on debut coming home at the SP of 1-2, finished 3RD of 7.
Just 3/4L behind the winner and should have learned pelnty from that.

GREYFRIARSCHORISTA
Trainer and jockey partnership does well on Mondays here with their maidens.
Beaten just 1 3/4L on debut in August last year for 4TH of 8.

BEYOND
Expensive debutant, 160,000gns, foal 105,000euros, 2yo 120,000gns by GALILEO.
Trainer J Noseda in 2009 here won 7 of 15 runs, 47%. 7 from 13 excluding 4yo+.

TOP 3

SOUTHWELL
13:10 Bet In Running - Betdaq Maiden Fillies' Stakes (3yo+, Class 5, 6f, 8 runners)

AMBROGINA
Beaten just a head at this course over 1m last time out.
Worth to trust the trainer with the drop in trip, he's won 3 of his last 4.
Trainer M Botti with his last 11 runs have 5 wins with 7 in total won/placed.

FREDDIE'S GIRL
2ND to ELATION by 4 1/2L at Lingfield last time out.
She had MNASIKIA, SININGINGNTHERAIN and LEAVING ALONE in 3RD, 4TH, and 5TH.

LINDY HOP
Career worst in her only start here when beaten 14 lengths, 6TH of 8.
That was on her yard debut and was better lto when 5TH of 11 by 7 lengths.
Consistent for W R Swinburn, likely to progress more for trainer K A Ryan.

TOP 3
LINGFIELD - Wednesday January 6
12:30 Betdaq The Betting Exchange Maiden Stakes (3-4yo, Class 5, 7f, 9 runners)

BRAVE ENOUGH
Looked much better than his debut when 5Th of 12 at Wolverhampton lto.
He's not been asked much to close his race yet so there's more from him.
Always behind on debut and just pushed along late last time out.
Can be third time lucky if connections decide to ask him for more today.

MONTEROSSO
Johnston and Fanning has a good C&D record in maidens here.
Johnston won 4 of 7 C&D maidens in 2009, all with Fanning on board.
Since 2008, the partnership have 8 wins from 17 runs at the C&D with maidens.

DARSHONIN

Noseda/Kelly in maidens here from DEC-FEB since 2006 is 5 from 10, 8 placed.
