I really like Top Billing. The distance is 1 1/8th from now on and the distance challenged horses will show up now for sure. The Florida Derby should be his coming out party.

If Top Billing wants to make the gates at Churchill he should leave Gulfstream and run in the Louisiana Derby. I don't think he can win at Gulfstream unless it gets wet. That track will hold speed at mile and 1/8. I don't think he can win the Florida Derby. Top Billing looks great and I hope he takes alot of money if he runs the Florida, because I will be playing against him as long as he is running down there.

There is a big difference running 1 1/8th and very few horses this year want any part of it. Watch the works for Top Billing over the next few weeks. They will be a lot more aggressive and you will see a even better horse. Top Billing is the horse to beat in the FD.

Good luck man. I am still not convinced that is where his connections will take him. Its not the talent that will keep him from winning the FD, its the track. If he runs in the FD and he has the likes of General A Rod, Wildcat Red (again) and then you are going to throw Cairo Prince on top. I would love to see Top Billing get pounded in the FD and help my value on any of those three.

    candy boy

seemed to put it together with the blinkers off. Like the
fact he ran a big route beyer as a 2yo in a G1 albeit on polytrack. Came off
the near two month layoff and won the RB Lewis with a solid 96
beyer. Next likely race Santa Anita Derby

    vicar's in trouble

blasted La breds by 13 lengths running a 98 beyer back in December..
Followed up with a 97 beyer going two turns in the G3 Le Comte. Considering
he was breaking from the 13 post and was 4 wide on the turns not a bad
race at all in the Risen Star. Passed lots of horses in that race which was probably
a good learning experience for him.. Next likely race Louisiana Derby

After this weekend, I am even more in love with Samraat, who looked great in the Gotham and will point toward the Wood next.

    Cairo Prince
Still one of my favorites, will point toward a heavy field in the Florida Derby. That Florida Derby is going to be strong and the top two coming out of this race have to be on your KY Derby radar.

    Candy Boy
Love this horse as well. along with everything JBex said, I think he has an easier route to KY as there hasn't been much in that California circuit that seem to really turn a lot of heads. Now someone could always pop out of there, but for the most part, he seems to be the creme of the crop here on the West Coast.

I like Cairo and 5D has him as the fave now at +900. Top Billing is no joke though, TB beat him heads up last year in a stretch duel.

Hard to really call it right now though.
