What is the infatuation with horses?

    All luck, no capping.

Quick cash if you win or lose.

    Degenerate to the max.

Why not bet some Asian tennis favorite?

Can't handicap how a horse runs other than information already given out to general public, just pick a number and plug.

Someone provide me with some concrete reasons

Deemer, you can say the same for any sport. Horses have jockeys and some jockeys are better than others. Also horses run alot of races so you have their history to cap.

Various factors to consider when handicapping a race. Such as distance, pace scenario, speed figures, ground loss, post, jockey, class, etc. Luck plays a part but does in sports handicapping as well. Like the missed 35 yard FG that gets you the cover. Wager for entertainment purposes only is your best bet.

No different than sports. Public falls in love with the wrong animal, bets the fukk out of it and the informed bet the right one. Lot of fukkers cheating, lots of fukkers not trying. Fukked up in the same way human contests are.

You gotta watch them run, track them find the right spot, know their PP's futher back than the lines available. All sorts of angles to it. Ain't any different than sports, you only have past performance there as well.

Never seen a horse break out with some fukked up dance move or Tebow after coming in fifth though.

It's a lot of fun... And a ton of info available to cap both public and inside tips... Exhilaration and high of those mins leadin up to the race and during the race is much better thZn sports. Going to window for immediate payout... Majestic animals that you can see up close in person before you bet them.... Sounds, sights, smells of the track. Being around other sicker way more degenerate losers makes you feel better about yourself ( kinda like hanging around this board for many)

There's some that can successfully make money off it (i.e.dink)....there's all kinds of things to look into. Certain trainers really know what the fukk they are doing while others are very sub par. Most people would agree that not all race car drivers are equally talented at driving cars, well the same can be said for a Jockey. Post positions, how a horse has recently been running, what the surface is, and a variety of other things allow you to handicap horse racing.

It's almost the same as any sport.

This coach/trainer is better than this coach/trainer....... this QB is overrated and only had good numbers the last 3 games due to bad defenses.. / this jockey only won his last race because he had weak competition and the last 3 before he didn't place.

this horse sucks when he runs on a soft track as opposed to a hard track / dwight howard is a born loser

Some of the richest "Gamblers" you will ever meet are Horse guys Deemer.
You're still a lil wet behind the ears, too young to understand the old school facts of gambling.

Not about capping back then, or even now still with the horses, it's who you know in the industry.
Konck used to train and owned a few horses, he can tell you about how nice it is to know people.
Give the right jockey $100 to bet on a race and see what happens.
Horse-racing is one big scam and circle of insiders making a killing.
Those movies you might have watched where you hear about "A big tip on a horse" is not untrue.

    Dear Deem,

I'm with you. I fukking can't stand the thrill of horses either. Seriously. Hate. It.

I also passionately hate...I mean can't STAND sex, girls who swallow, my team winning multiple World Series, watching a team I'm backing score a last second td to cover a spread, being on top of a mountain, having Sbr pay for me and my woman to be in NY right now, flopping the nuts in early position with 2 aggro fuks behind me, and a juicy medium rare prime rib steak.

Man...I don't get these losers who enjoy the thrill of capping and watching horses either.

Game gets in your blood and stays there.

Was a big standardbred guy late eighties early nineties. Had several shares and a few of my own.

Really miss the barn and joggin em. Miss race paddock, kitchen, leanin on the rail at the line.

LBJ, Provincial Cup, NA Cup some of the finest sporting events ever. If anyone been to Deleware for the Jug they know.

Victory Gallop is my favorite horse, buried me in derby & Preakness, but we got that California fukker in New York...

DEEM, as many have said: this is a mans game, it's as big of an American tradition as baseball...

i feel bad you weren't raised into it

granted we I was born in Louisville on derby day, dad was at track

i never had a prayer in life

no stronger feeling of excitement than winning a race
