Picantel, I'm sure you and others who follow harness racing will also enjoy seeing incompetence at it's finest. It's judging decisions like these that give horse racing in general a bad name. Watch this video from Western Fair Raceway in London Ontario, and after watching the stretch drive, i want you to realize that they left the horse up!!! Enjoy!

"Thanx" for the video. For a minute there, I thought I was watching a recent "Hall of Shame" race from Cal Expo. sharktank1 |

Shark, i don't really follow CalExpo, though i know they've had some issues in the past, but this takes it to a whole new level.
The problem with this situation is that it's the judges who are screwing up, not a "horseman" crossing the line with illegal drugs or any type of race fixing. The judges have to be held accountable for their decisions just like the trainers are for theirs, or else what little faith may be left in the game will be gone out the window if the clowns who are suppose to protect the game are this incompetent.

OMG that was the worse I have ever seen. The horse in front did not even break and take him out. He just pulled in the instretch to pass. Whatever association that governs these races has to look at this race and those officials. What a disgrace.

They tried to say it was a safety issue because the #1 horse had too much run

Unfortunately he ended up being choked down. He was fighting the driver the entire 1st 1/4 as he wanted to leave out and the plan was to race from the back this week. The battle between driver/horse ended up with the horse packing it in when he didn't get his way.

As for that race, the claim by the judges was that the horse was interfered with by the horse on the lead, and because of that he had every right to do what he did. To prove their point they ended up suspending the driver on the lead, (not the one who took the scenic route) for 3 days!
Needless to say appeals have been filed and something tells me that eventually this horse will get set down. However that doesn't help the betting public who as usual, take it on the chin from sheer incompetence!

What a ludicrous ruling. He got trapped behind a huge longshot and paid the price when you get trapped in. According to their ruling if you take a longshot to the front and cave then you get suspended lol. I also noticed the heavy fave was gapping behind the longshot the entire time. Even gaining about 10 lengths in the inner stretch he still barely won and even with room there is no chance in hell he wins that race.

Ok I carefully watch the entire race again. The longshot cleared no problem. the fave tried to retake the lead and got stuffed. Around the final turn right before the obvious foul the longie hit the horse a couple of times trying to urge him out. In the stretch the longie hit the horse numerous times trying to urge him on. At no point in the race did he sit back on the horse or interfere with the horse behind him. As I said before whatever horse racing association governs that track needs to suspend or fire the race officials for an obvious race fix.

Can't blame the track, can you imagine the extra $ they profited from the break on a 1-5 favorite

Easy answer. The judges pooled all their money and
bet it all on the #1 to win. |

what are u talking about? the track doesn't make any more money regardless of who wins. all money bet on the race goes into respective pools, win place show, exacta and so on....the amount you win is based on how many winning tickets there are. the officials blew it thats for sure but unless they bet the 1 nobody profits from the order of finish except those with winning tickets, or the crooked drivers.
