Default NHL tonight

Of course, it's college football day. But I still play pucks and I like to get opinions on a couple games. I've bet 3 draws so far and I'm 2 for 3. I think you can look at how 2 teams usually perform against each other, despite the off year, and determine how close the game will be.

I already picked Carolina and the over, LA and the over, as well as the under again between the Blue Jackets and the Wild. I'm looking at NJ/Bos and Buf/NYI and am considering a possible tie.

The Devils are coming off a tough game against the Sabres (3-2), after losing in Atlanta and to TB. They are without Brodeur and Elias still. The Bruins are having a tough start, playing for .500. Of those 12 games, 7 ended in a 1-goal difference. 3 went into overtime... but all on the road. They just beat Toronto 2-1 after losing 2 straight. Zhamnov and Isbister are still out while McEachern is questionable. They are 1-2-1 at home vs NJ in their last 4.

Sabres 6 of last 7 have been decided by 1 goal, 1 in OT and 1 in SO. They beat the Isles 6-4 at home, 1st game of the season. Islanders win one and lose the other, most tight games. They are without Parrish. Biron will get the start. If he performs, this should be a good Under with DiPietro at the other end.

Thoughts?

Max

max, i happen to have been eyeing both these games last night once the oilers/stars game was over. so, i do have an opinion on these two games.

devils/boston:

NJ ranks 23rd in defense allowing 3.60 goal per game but, i don't think the devils are really as bad as that. boston hasn't really been all that impressive this year either.

my play in this game would be NJ devils +170

sabers/islanders:

these two teams to me seem to be perty evenly matched and, getting plus money with the sabers i feel is very generous here.

my play in this game would be the sabers +133

By the way, Dan, good pick with Edmonton last night. Wasn't a easy play, they were on a 7-games losing streak, I believe.

Yes, that NJ line looks pretty good. I don't know Clemmensen but I'm sure they're back checking a lot without Brodeur.

ya, that oilers game got a little scarry in that 2nd period but, at least they held on and won for me.

i'm really liking the sabers game tonight in this spot though.

I went ahead and tried a draw between Sabres and Isles. I like your NJ play. Was tempted to play it under but I parlayed it with Blues/Kings Over, instead.

I'm more interested in Ott/Tor and Van/Col but I have no feel for either one of those games. Avs have served me well since Hejduk's return. Much better offense. As opposed to Kovalchuk and the Thrashers who have screwed me up a few times.

2-0 Ottawa after 5 minutes. Methinks this game will open up.

Careful. Been up 2-0 many times this year in pucks, to just see it get tied up or my side go down in the game.

ya, those 2-0 leads nowadays aren't very safe, in todays NHL.

True but coming back from a 3-0 deficit now against Hasek and Ottawa is not an easy task. Leafs are gonna have to regroup and change strategy. They're dominated and outshooted 10-3.

I'm just watching this game. Had no bets on it. Just enjoying this rivalry.

I did lose Oregon State with Miller throwing 6 ints. Now I'm keeping an eye on Mich-NW (crazy game).

What about you guys. What do you need?
