Those look like old all-star game finals.

Well when the whole game is basicly a Power Play. The goals will increase. This, I think, is what the NHL wanted.

Dont forget the 6-0 final by Tampa over Atlanta.

The rule changes and other "improvements" may help bring in a lot of new fans, and bring casual fans back, but I personally liked hockey the other way much more.
It's pretty much the same philosophy as the World Series. Most people would rather see Yankees 13, Red Sox 11, but I love White Sox 2, Astros 1.

I loved some of the new rules like no ties and shootouts. I think its foolish to give a hockey game a baseball score. Nothing better than 1-0 where every bounce of the puck matters.

From a betting stand point, I dont like the SO. Because it made the puck lines 1.5. The .5 goal puck lines where golden. If you were on the dog, in a tie, you win. The +1.5 goal lines are to much wood for me to lay most of the time, so I just take ML's in Hockey.

I agree with that Senator. Ties were the worst thing for fans and players.

I would think more goals would mean more excitement for the fans, which they need after the stopage of play...
