San Jose
I realize that this will sound rather foolish and that the sharks are on a 6 game win streak, but is it really dumb to take them from here on out, assuming no injuries?
The hockey lines never seem to get as bad as baseball where you can have -300 or -400 with CC or something. So you can't lose too much of our gains when they lose a game.
So far this year they are
18-4 and with covers closing line you would be at 12.01 units.
I can see how books should notice this and make lines steeper, but so long as they don't pass -300 and the sharks have 100+ wins where could I go wrong? Is this a -eV bet?
Sorry for the random questions, but I'm still learning and would love to hear some input.

Blindly betting any team is never a good idea. I guess if you plan on doing this, the Sharks might be the team and now might be the time. However keep in mind that their schedule travel wise has been pretty good thus far, they have only played 3 times in 4 nights once this season (with tonight being the second time), and that historically as the season goes on teams that get off to this type of start never keep up the pace while the lines tend to skew towards them. The Sharks also tend to start strong and falter down the line, usually in the playoffs but nevertheless it happens. I'd be more inclined to pick your spots with them than chase them every game.

Thanks cobra_king I appreciate your insight. I'll just track in this thread for fun and to prevent me from booking it with cash.

SJ down 2-0 and come back to win 3-2 in regulation ... this team is good and lucky ... i was worried about my SJ -0.5 regulation pick after PHX scored those first 2 goals, especially after PHX had beaten the sharks 4-2 in their last meeting 3 weeks ago ...
the sharks are the real deal and the books are really gonna be adding even more chalk on them ... the best thing to do is either put them in a parlay or take the -0.5 regulation line to reduce the juice ...

i wouldn't take them tonight!
they're on a 7 wins streak and just 2 games before that they had another 7w streak.
I mean c'mon let's be serious, this's gotta stop.
and if -280 is not so bad for you, then go for it.
toskala starting against nabokov
p.s. nabokov's on a 8game winning streak!

Just my two cents: I've noticed when a line favors a team by nearly double or more they tend to struggle and/or lose. You have to consider the Leafs will bring their A game against SJ because of who they are.

didnt think the lines would get this steep, but I'd like to see how this maps out over the year.

Why you liking the blue jackets? Sharks are a great team and the Jackets gave the game to the leafs a few nights ago, that makes me think SJ will have there way with them.
Probably still staying away from this one though..

freefall,
i think it's very interesting to see how taking SJ for the year will end up..!?
my opinion is they had a fantastic start! equaling the habs best start season in the 70's. i think SJ have amazing team chemistry but at some point they remain human, and this remains hockey! i'm thiking of betting against them a little from now on..

I like them because I feel that they are in the same division, blue jackets play teams tight when they are big time underdogs, and they outshot SJ 33 to 25 in SJ last time they played. that was my thinking behind it...

Steve Mason has been playing some sick hockey for CBJ you never know, I could see them pulling it off in OT or something tonight.

These lines are getting chalkier by the game. But time will tell.
