NHL 2 'dog system. (begins 1/7/11)

Starting tonight, I will start two different systems inside the same post.
First System: I will put one unit on the 'dog ranked highest in the standings according to points and double that unit if that team is at home.

Second System: I will put one unit on the biggest 'dog of the night.

    SYSTEM 1 Play for 1/7:

    +105, 1unit. (S1 YTD 0-0-0)

    SYSTEM 2 Play for 1/7:

    +235, 1unit. (S2 YTD 0-0-0)

There are clearly other things to consider here, and I am more than willing to listen to any ideas that will make us all some $$. Let's see how we do.

I'm interested in the "highest in the standings" portion...as for the biggest dog of the night...I posted some stats in your other thread about that...

I've tracked it all season because I too was looking at it and it hasn't fared all that well...27-53 on the season thus far (when there are 4 or more games on the day)

  3. #3

of all of the underdogs on any given night, the one who has the most points will be played for one unit. if that team is at home, I will play it for 2.

And 27-53 would be pretty close to + money, right? I mean, if it was always +200 then you would be up 1unit.
Anyway, Im just gonna track these ideas and see how it goes.

  4. #4

Yea, just shared what I had...and I know some of the lines were +200, but more often than not they were between +175 and +190...

So yes...it would be close to being even...what I was/am doing was playing them biggest dog SU in a parlay with another game...and it has hit quite well (I'll have to go count up the wins) and was netting roughly 4-6u every time it won...

Edit: Parlay has won 16 times this season...I've played it 50 times...so, 16-34...also has been very streaky...recently hadn't hit one in 7 games...

it's never won me less than 4u's...I don't have my exact stats but even at a minimum of 4u's...it'd be up 32u's...(4*16)-(34 losses at 1u each)...

  5. #5

hm. I like that, too. good luck with it. Keep me posted. you got a thread link?

  6. #6

    ^
I did, but I went on vacation and hadn't updated it...but if you want/don't mind...I'll just post the parlay play in this thread...or your other dogs one.

Tonight the parlay is: Edmonton ML/Chicago PL 1u for 7u
And I also play Chicago PL 1u...

Sorry for dumb question. What is PL? I assume it means Puck Line, but up until now I had just thought that was a hockey term for ML.

I love this concept. Ive been playing the largest ML underdog for the last couple of weeks and despite being under 50%, I am playing it on a Labby line and it is paying off with the high lines. I am now jumping on the bandwagon with your highest points underdog system. so thanks for sharing.

I ended up taking the Stars...plus Minnesota was riding a 5 game win streak...they generally don't extend much beyond that in the NHL...

Great systems, very helpful. Something I take into account (not base an entire system on) is the greatest dog point differential. Essentially, putting an emphasis on the dog with the best differential in points versus their opponent for that night. So tonight, it would be PIT as the odds stand now as they are at 56 points while MTL is at 51 creating a +5 differential for the PIT play, larger than any of the other three games (Caps/Lightning EVEN, Avs/Hawks +1, Blues/Ducks EVEN). Just a thought to kick around. But again, thanks for tracking these, this is great.
