The Leafs now have 25.5m invested (as per nhlnumbers.com) on this group of d-men:

* Komisarek (4.5 cap hit)
* Beauchemin (3.8)
* Phaneuf (6.5)
* Kaberle (4.25)
* Finger (3.5)
* Schenn (2.975)

Funny thing is Kaberle earns less money than Phaneuf and Komisarek, yet he's a much more complete defenseman and a better player all around. Burke is definitely investing a lot on this big rugged defensive core. As a Montreal fan, I hope it doesn't work out for him.

There is an olympic trade freeze from Feb 12-28, than 63 hour period until the March 3rd trade deadline. I'd expect there to be some trades before Feb 12

dion phaneuf, who cares. even if tor get Bobby Orr, paul coffey, larry robinson, and Doug harvey all in their prime, they will still NEVER win a stanley cup cause TORONTO is a city of losers and so are the leafs.. no cup since 1967.. that's 43 yrs and it will be another 143 yrs before they ever win another cup..
