Yes, Chicago is one of the three best teams in the NHL, and yes, Edmonton is poor and banged up, but this is a pretty easy play.

Chicago is way too expensive for a road game.

The line might be inflated due to Edmonton's major slump. No matter. This line would be about right in Chicago, IMO. In Edmonton? Not really.

I love betting big hockey underdogs to begin with, and this is way too enticing to pass up.

I can't see Chicago dropping 2 in a row here. Everyone knows of Edmonton's struggles, and the law of eventuality says they will win one eventually, but I just don't see it happening tonight. Even in the loss to Vancouver, Chicago cranked off 44 shots. I just don't see Edmonton standing up to that kind of a barrage right now. I'm going with small stakes on Chicago -1.5.

Very true. I pretty much never bet anything over -150. It's hard to win long-term betting such heavy chalk.

id put $ on the reading royals (leafs echl affiliate 20 minutes up the road from me) taking the oilers in regulation at this point.....

they look like someone slipped them all ruffies tonight. i need the over here to hit my parlay. 1/2 way through the game and we're halfway to the over. can the hawks put another 3 in the net? from what ive seen tonight i cant imagine them getting one through the pipes....

I still say that betting over -200 in the NHL is not smart. Much better to avoid the excessive lines and bet regulation only or the puckline.

Detroit earlier was up 4-2 with 1:31 remaining and gave up 2 goals (last one with 22 seconds left) and lost in OT!

I don't feel like going through all the effort of tracking it, but I bet you'd be up a nice amount the last few seasons had you taken all the +200 and up underdogs at a low-vig book.

I hit the ML and the PL for the Hawks. They are my team and it seems that you are most likely to get burnt by the ML when it is in the -150 range on the road.

Great save by Huet to save the PL with 5 seconds left. I am thinking over for SJ game due to the suspect Hawks goaltending.
