    Default N00b looking for help/information

    Hey everyone!!

First post here, like the look and feel of this site so I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm new to this, but looking to start betting on some sports (mostly hockey which is why I put this in here). I'm hoping that you guys will be able to direct me to some good articles or threads to help start me out, and if you guys have any other Tips I'd really appreciate any advice. I have a strong poker background, so I know all about bankroll management and the variance that comes with gambling, so I guess I'm not a complete noob.

Thanks in advance for your help! Later.

Might try focusing on totals. I have usually found more value in the total than I do moneyline or puckline.

Anyways thanks to keyboarding for the links and jgilmartin for sharing your thoughts. I'm gonna start picking teams without putting any money on them for now, hopefully start wagering in a month or so. Good luck everybody. Oh yea, one last question. What kind of software do you guys use to track your bets? Or do you use a spreadsheet or keep records by hand? Thanks a lot for any replies. And once again, good luck with all your bets.

SBR offers a spreadsheet. You can use it in the top right hand of this screen. Good luck.
