They sure do. Maybe people will learn to fade them every game until they can prove they don't or the linemakers start basing play on the 2009-2010 season and not the past two.

In general, I think they are on their way down. But they are still a top 5 seed in the West, so I wouldn't say they suck. Just not what they once were.

How do you not if Phoenix beats superior teams like Pittsburgh and San Jose thanks to their goalie? Hockey is the most likely sport to have upsets happen so often when I bet I try to keep them to the underdogs or evens as much as possible.

I don't think Detroit is a necesarily a top 5 seed anymore. Both St Louis and Chicago have young, strong and talented hockey teams and Columbus has a future star of a goalie while Detroit has a bunch of talented and intelligent hockey players but who are also aging and slowing. They will be in a dog fight to remain on top of that division. Two blown leads late against two younger and supposedly inferior clubs like Phoenix and Colorado is showing this.

It's just a slump. They will be top 5 in the league at years end. Looks to Pitt last season, they were same way until after the all star break and look at the result. I am not in panic mode quite yet.

They need a goaltender for sure. Also, they need another solid D and a solid W to replace Franzen for the mean time.

I also agree but remember Pittsburgh changed the head coach and then went on a run to the Cup.

Babcock definitely isn't the problem here. It's the team chemistry and lack of D.

I wasn't saying Babcock was. It's too early to dump on the wings IMO. Too much talent. They will be close to the top of the western Conference by Xmas eh!

Go Canucks Go!

The Blues and Blue Jackets are pretty meh, to me. I'd be surprised if Detroit finished below either of them.

The Red Wings know that they can sleep through the regular season and still finish in the top 3 in the western conference so I wouldn't be to concerned with the way they started this season. It's the playoffs that counts and that is when the Wings need Osgood at his best not game 7 of the regular season. Rule of thumb is to never back the Wings as a big fav during the regular season because they aren't always motivated to play.
